Volvo XC60 petrol engine experience please

My son has asked for my advice and I do not have relevant experience to advise him - please can nayone help?

He's looking at 2009 - 2014 T5 2 Ltr petrol Volvo XC60s.

He's considering the diesel version as well, but for various reasons (including cost) he'd like to consider the petrol version.
Can anyone please give info about fuel economy when towing with the older petrol XC60?

We would also be interested in views of towing performance for the petrol version.

    Hi

    Cant comment on the petrol version I think they are quite rare. We have a66 plateXC60 with 2.0D4 engine and tow a 1450KGS van no problem our is auto gearbox love it such a good tow car we have towed all over UK with no issue a great tow car. Personally I’d go for a diesel
