Affiliate discount?
Hi all,
We're new to the Club with a couple of years caravaning experience behind us.
One reason we joined the Club is for the £15 off per night at a site - but this doesn't seem to apply to Affiliate sites. Booking an Affiliate site direct with them we've been given a total of a £13 discount for the whole 3 night stay. Is this correct?
Very disappointed if that's the case. I can't find anything on the Club website regarding this.
Thanks.
Rob

You’ll find a little bit more about affiliated sites in the link below but, I agree, it’s not made totally clear regarding the £15 membership discount only applying to camc owned/operated sites.

One affiliated site which I know gives no discount to Club members at all - though they do give 25% off to everyone whether members or not for low season stays of 7or more nights .
The owners are already paying a large sum of money to the Club for advertising in the handbook and on the website and the reassurance of the Affiliated label - that certainly draws in Club members who might not otherwise go.1 -
It’s simply understanding the difference that counts. Some AS sites give all sorts of very good offers, others not quite as much. There used to be the Managed Under Contract (MUC) sites as well, mainly racecourses. These are very thin on the ground nowadays, Exeter is still going, but while you generally get a very good price, you won’t get the more updated facilities.
Note to OP, don’t expect Certificated Locations (CLs) to be run like Club Sites should you choose to visit. These are independently run, 5 pitch only sites, run by owners to their own pricing policy and choice of what to provide. Inspected by the Club to meet safety and other basic standards. Lovely extra addition to the network, but it’s down to the individual to make sure that your choice suits your individual requirements. Some are basic, others have a lot more than even Club Sites can offer, well worth trying👍

Affiliated sites are there to plug the gaps in the Clubs own network of sites. I have been to several affiliated sites and not been disappointed, in fact some, like the Morris Leisure sites are very similar to CMC sites. Discounts for CMC members using affiliated sites varies from site to site.
On the question of members discount on CMC sites this something of a misnomer in my view because rather than being a discount it is in fact an extra charge for non-members, does that amount to the same thing I am not sure it does? If you take a members only site its impossible for the discount to be applied?

BTW very interesting picture in your avatar.
