Vouchers for European sites
We are going to travel through France and stop wherever we feel like . We are thinking of buying some overnight vouchers , but wondering if it’s a good idea , or is it better to just book about 30 minutes from the site and pay with the bank card .

I am trying to find out basically if all sites abroad would accept the vouchers , or is it better to just book as we go along . We will not really know where we are going to end up from day to day as this is a new venture for us and don’t know how long things will take in France to get from one place to another . We are not in a particular hurry though .

Agree with WTG....depending on time of year you'll need to be aware that 'proper' campsites have a short opening span in France...May to Sept often.
the links provided above will open up a whole different world of 'stopovers' away from the tied in voucher system...if it's club vouchers forget it unless your a die hard user of all things club (recommended).
thousands of sites in France not on the club list, many far better thsn you'll normally come across here.
camping car parks are taking over older municipal sites and turning them into more upmarket Aires with barrier entry and often some facilities...membership card to open barriers etc.
camping car infos has a directory of the more traditional town/village/city Aires provided by local communities specifically for tourers to come and visit their offering.
the world (well, France) certainly is your oyster. Enjoy the freedom.

And a very good system it is as well. I used a Camping Mon Village site a few days ago, they accept caravans as well in season. I was well impressed with the ease of use and the site. If you do decide to do things on the fly, my tip is to try to stop before 4p.m. Sites start to fill up after 4p.m. 200 miles on Continental roads, especially autoroutes, is an easy days journey.
