Here you go, Newboy. This thread will tell you plenty. My advice is to use either a club site such as Cadeside or Hurn Lane or one of the numerous CLs close to the M5 in that area.

Back in the late 1980’s, early 90’s, we occasionally used to stay at service stations, including Taunton Deane if going to Cornwall. Back then it was never pleasant, noisy, dirty and we never slept well wondering what’s might be going on outside. It’s also quite expensive now. Far easier and more relaxing to plan ahead and use either a site or a CL. A lot of CLs along the motorway corridors are used to folks arriving a bit late, so with pre planning, and a phone call if required, you should be able to find something that suits. You can get onto Club Sites up to 8pm. We would never ever stay on a service station overnight now (unless broken down).
Exeter Racecourse Site is good for overnight stops, relatively cheap, easy access on and off to all routes, depends on your start destination of course, might be too far down.

Google campsite at Ashe Farm, Taunton - 3 miles from junction 25. Phone them and ask what their late night cut off time is for arrivals.

If you are travelling on the M5 south of Bristol you might find one of these CLs for a rest overnight. They are in the Highbridge area, Sedgemoor Services would be ok for a stop off but avoid Bridgwater Services as they are awkward to reach and off the motorway. Taunton Deane is the alternative but will be very busy.
