Has anyone found an easier route from Chapel Lane site Birmingham to Longleat Club site without going through Bradford on Avon or Bath?   It was such a tight squeeze but the club sat nav takes us through there everytime.

Via Melksham and Trowbridge if you wish.

Does this cut out Bath and Bradford on Avon?  We went through Trowbridge. Do we then follow signs for Melksham and is this easier to get through?

Which road atlas do you have? This one is useful.

Cirencester, Chippenham, Warminster would be a better route. Use the Fosse Way if you don't mind some hilly stretches. smile We live south of Longleat and you can easily avoid Bath etc. Use the A350.

A350 South at a roundabout south of Westbury take A362 to Frome then a left somewhere along that road. Stick with the A350 through Melksham and Westbury. For info - Lots of roundabouts on this route. Travelled it a number of times though not to CAMC site.  Good luck

I think if you are worried about routes its not a bad idea to look at them on Google Maps. I have just put both start and finish in Google maps and the do take you via Bath but not through the centre. These routes can always be followed on Google Earth which I have always found helpful. A longer alternative is rather than leaving the M4 at junction 18 continue to junction 17 and use the Chippenham/Trowbridge route to Longleat.

Good luck, another reason to avoid Bath are the emission zones.
