We have been on 2 sites now where Half of the toilet/shower  facilties have been arbitrarily  closed when members were in need of them.

Not for repairs or upgrading......no purely to save money !   When site fees have increased exponentially . Sites were Chapel Lane  nr. Birmingham   and  New England Bay Dumfries and  Galloway  Scotland.    Were we 'inconvenienced'

Well,  yes we were, we had to walk much further for our shower and wait longer to have one.

And the site fees did not reflect the loss of services.  A bad show.

So what did the site staff say when you questioned them about it? Did you also look at the "before you travel" part of the web page which could give advice of any closures?

One of the facility blocks at Alderstead Heath is closed for rest of season as well. (Information, I am not commenting.)

Well, if price is anything to go by, less is more.

I wonder if this comment will fall foul of Winston at the Ministry of Truth.

Just come back from New England Bay, Scotland. oinly one toilet block open. Find this annoying as prices have increased yet services have gone down! is this a money saving thing? Its not the only site this has found to only open haf the facilities!! the 2nd block should be open as it is a long walk to find showers in the other block all in use! this is not what I pay fees for!  come on Caravan & Motorhome Club, get it right!

It’s shocking and clearly to save money. I asked staff who told me was for efficiency! I am waiting call back from senior management as I am not paying high season prices for low season facilities. I got the did you read ‘before you travel’ but it’s supposed to be for any last minute roadworks etc not’ half the site facilities were closed 2 months ago’ . Was not advertised as being reduced when I booked so I am wanting refund!
