Road closures Tenby area over 2 weekends

Certainly the Ironman one in September caused all sorts of chaos getting to Freshwater East for us. It was a good few years ago and I believe the first time they had held it. The club had been informed that folk leaving would have to be away for 7am but that the then 12 noon arrival would be unaffected, so no warnings were issued to new arrivals. We were indeed held up until 12 noon and then released, only to come to a stop again a few miles on where a 100 metre section of road between two junctions was still in use by the race. We were held there until 5:30 when 15 of us could complete our journey to the site. Hopefully they have sorted things out a bit in the years since. Although personally I would avoid arriving during that weekend.
