Leaving the club II.
Like DS3 on the original "Leaving the club" discussion I am seriously considering my future membership with the club. The new website is a total shambles and to be honest the Club has been going downhill ever since the "powers that be" decided to rename it The Caravan & Motorhome Club without any consultation with the membership. Then there was the debacle of quoting nightly fees of £** for one person with outfit. Where did that come from? I know there are some people who caravan solo but the vast majority of caravanners are couples or family's.
I have e mailed Club HQ with my gripes and what do I get? Standard "fob you off" replies from agents of the club. No disrespect to those agents, they are only doing what there masters tell them!
I have enjoyed being a member of the club over the last 2 decades and the standards of the sites are still as high as ever but I feel the recently introduced 3 or more nights discount is a result of artificially inflated nightly fees.
I've recently stayed on two smallish (40 to 50 unit) commercial sites with standards as high as the club and with prices broadly similar to the discounted Club site fees so that leads me to ask the question "What is the point of being a member of the Club?"
In my honest opinion I think the club is being totally mis-managed at the moment. Either intentionally (I can't imagine why) or unintentionally by being brainwashed by outside consultants (large fees?) who don't understand the basics of the club. The Club is falling apart. The current management is burying its head in the sand which, no doubt DG Nick Lomas was able to do on his recent trip to the Sahara with the Bailey expedition. Nero fiddled while Rome burned comes to mind! Nick Lomas is the Director General and the buck stops with him.
So, any members of this once great club, who see this message before it is either locked or Deleted User if you agree with me I urge you to bombard HQ with e mails of complaints about the way the Club is heading.

Baileyvanman, I just did an internet check for west Cornwall in case you are coming down here. Out of 291 sites listed there are 256 which have no connection with either Club. I am sure other areas will be similar. So there is plenty of choice of places for people to go without a Club and without needing to complain.
Enjoy your travels

As per the previous discussion if you would like to cancel your membership please visit the Contact us page. We do ask that Club Together is not misused as a channel of complaint and as such I will close this discussion now and shortly remove.
We wish you all the very best for your future touring and thank you for taking the time to email the Club with your feedback.
