If you're talking about an ordinary electric freezer then it won't work when travelling as you only have the connection from car to van (which would power a standard caravan fridge).  The freezer will only work when plugged into a caravan socket when you are connected to the pitch bollard via electric hook up cable.

Even if it were to prove possible, don’t forget the weight of a freezer would eat into your payload and it would need securing in some way.

We've always found the ice box of the fridge to be all we needed 🤷🏻‍♂️

i have a Waeco box that will act as a freezer if kept close to full.  It can power from 240v mains, 12 v DC vehicle power or LPG.  Have used it may times in back of Land Rover while travelling and also on site on the 240v.  Hope the OP has bought someting similar, and if not maybe he should reconsider getting one if he wants freezer-on-the-move.

What do you want to do? transport frozen food you've made at home for your holidays? If it's just for a few hours or say a day's travel then we use a 12V coolbox in the car with plenty of thin ice blocks (actually cheap frozen peas works well too) around the frozen stuff and it's still frozen when we take it out.
