Rallies online map search feature not working...?

Hi

I would usually use the map search feature  - https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/whats-on/events - to find what rallies are on at different locations but it doesn't come up with anything, even for Easter or any of the bank holiday weekends.  i know this isn't the case, so wondered if the map feature for showing rallies is no longer working?  I'm aware there were issues last year when it wasn't showing up to date information, but would have thought it was fixed by now...?

The pdf listing isn't always helpful as the rallies are often named based on the local town/village or theme of the rally, which doesn't help if you've not familiar with the area.

Camping and Caravan club site do an equivalent map search that works very well, so can't be that difficult to set up?

    I think this is one of the most neglected parts of the web site Flumpetting, sadly it has never worked properly 😕 

    If you don't mind I'll forward your post via the report system to see if there is a response from the club (after the holiday we might get a response?!)

    Just to let you know I've reported this to the Digital Team and they are investigating this error. I will let you know when I have an update.

    Pleased to say this seems to be working now. You can either click on "all centres" or choose an individual centre, put in the dates you need, then tick "long" or "short" rally and a list of rallies should appear. smile

    I’m afraid that if the search for rallies was working when you posted your reply, it is still less than good.  e.g. if you are looking for a rally in a particular location, you have to select a particular Centre as far as I can see.  I’ve tried searching for known rallies run by my own Centre but unless the exact start and finish dates are entered in the search field, no results are forthcoming.  The search options don’t seem to take into account that rallies, particularly holiday rallies, are often run away from the county/area of that Centre.  I have raised this many times, both with club officials at regional question times and by direct emails but sadly nothing seems to be done about it.

    Sorry to read your comments Alan Port, yes,  it now looks as though you can only search for a particular area eg Devon for CAMC events only not local centres. Very disappointing. We are giving up vanning later this summer but I hope anyone interested will pursue these matters. Best wishes to all concerned. smile
