Had a lovely sunny if breezy day today, we had to do a bit of shopping first thing, found the island abbatoir that also has a butchery and shop so all stocked up with very local meat. 🙂

We had a walk from Tobermory to Aros Park along the coastal path, picnic in the sunshine and then a walk back. Visited the Tobermory Distillery for a wee dram, ended up with 2 bottles. 🤣

There are only us and other campervan on site tonight, infact the island has been very quiet and no midges to bother us yet.

Have attached a pic of one of the many waterfalls,  hope the site WiFi doesn't drop out.

Nellie,  Mull is well worth a longer visit.

You’ll recognise us by the scruffy old caravan, and numberplate that gives a hint to what we do.

Another good day today the sun was shining this morning and it was quite warm so we spent the e morning sitting outside in the sun. I’m the afternoon we headed out to port sunlight and had lunch at The Bridge inn we always have a neal there when we are down this way and as usual it was good Then headed in to Liverpool and done the tour of the tunnel which was great not too expensive but it does have to be booked in advance very good 2 hour tour takes you under the road way and shows all the workings of the tunnel the tour guides were excellent well worth a visit for anyone in the area. Liverpool is very busy at the moment a lot of actively for the upcoming Eurovisin contest. Now back at the van plan is to relax tonight not sure what we are doing tomorrow

Found OH, the Waitrose delivery man and a male neighbour pouring over the contents of my delivery boxes this morning!! Making comments about the coronation and things I'd ordered. Cheeky things, but I had ordered a Jack Russell Coronation cake for the children at the street party as I don't want to be on oven duty this weekend. laughing

I also decided to buy a bottle of British sparkling wine and am just hoping OH doesn't sample too much of everyone else's vino collapso purchases...I have no control over our coronation events. wink Hope you all have a good weekend. 🥳👑

I'm just having a bit of a rest mid cooking. I thought the family might not fancy the Coronation Quiche, so I have made a Smoked Haddock & Leek one. And an Egg & Bacon Pie. Plus cooked the chicken for Coronation Chicken. This afternoon will be puddings etc. And decorating little cakes. Fairy Cakes, not Cup Cakes (which always look as they're all topping and no cake). Roast beef, various breads and salads and dips to go.

It does sound good Goldie......book us in too!

Dull day here mainly.  Sun came out earlier so OH put on a load of washing,  a large cloud promptly came over it    frown

OH decided  to change mobile supplier to SMARTY,  but things are not going well.  The original request on 28/04 to port her number to them seems to have fallen through a very large  crack, she has an e mail from them confirming receipt of the request and PAC, they are saying they never received it.

She spent about 90 minutes on line to them yesterday on "chat", so apparently it should be sorted by 09/05.  Right now she cannot access one of her savings accounts as they need to send a code to her to confirm it is her, and they only have her old number.  Not ideal!   All these bank holidays are holding up all sorts of things.

Busy day doing mundane things like food shopping and picking up prescriptions etc.

We were happy that MiL finally tested clear today, mainly so that I could get out of drying dishes duty.laughing Told her to take things easy for a while. She is robust but, even so, at her age its bound to take time to get over. We're still clear so will now concentrate on getting things ready for our trip next week.

Sounds like you've fallen lucky Helen with your trip.

Maybe not all but some of you, I am sure, will be watching the Coronation tomorrow as it happens. They have had a number of rehearsals and there are a lot of videos around of them doing so. I watched this one of YouTube and found it quite fascinating watching in the dark!

John Rose and his team from Poole fitted the Thule roof windout to our current Valencia when we bought thw van back in 2016.  They came up to Raymond James in Atherstone and fitted it before we picked up the caravan.  Really good job from Rose Awnings.

We've had a date for the handover of our new van - an Alocanto Grande Evora... 24th May... fingers crossed.  After handover, we've decided to combine the fitting of the Thule with a trip down to Poole.  We've decided to get a new updated one with the lockable side arms.  Our current Thule was fitted before they introduced the locking side arms, I think.  However we've decided not to buy the 'room' this time around.... we very rarely put tge sides in.... quite happy with rolling the roof out.   Looking forward to getting it all sorted.

Just time this morning for a last walk with Ralph across the suspension bridge at Addingham, the only river crossing between Ilkley and Bolton Bridge. It was built in 1936 to replace an older, wooden bridge that had been washed away when the river flooded - hard to believe looking at how benign the river is now!

And now ... moulesy is a happy man because look where we arrived just in time for lunch! And better still, it's literally just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage (up the hill there and down on the way back - what's not to like? )smile

Lovely photos but it wouldn't be benign if you had had the weather we have had this lunchtime moulesy!! We were just coming out of Aldi and I said 'that sky looks a bit black' and then the heavens opened. Thunder lightening and torrential rain and then hailstones for about an hour or more. Our road still has a huge puddle right across it. It reminded me of the sort of thunder storms we used to get in western France as it just kept going round and round.

Our bunting is up and we will watch the Coronation tomorrow. The Cathedral are screening it both inside and outside and there is to be a community picnic in the precincts and Cathedral Square which should be good.  On Sunday we have been invited to our daughter's parent in laws for a Coronation BBQ. I have sorted out a few goodies to take with us. I hope the weather improves a bit for all the jollities

Milliehull it must be very localised.

We've had heavy swift showers, no hail. Thunder rumbling around again, but been quiet for a couple of hours. Funny sort of day weatherwise. Drove to Bluebell wood walk about 9am, glorious birdsong and blooms. Got chased back up the A1 in heavy rain, which started within 5 mins of getting in the car. Got a bit ahead of it and indoors before it started here. So dry me and dry dog 😀

Have planted out lots of veg and almost dried washing outside BUT had to take cover a couple of times. Ground very claggy now but I got what I wanted done, bit of extra effort to turn soil after last shower and tools needed good scrape down.sitting in the garden now - pretending we're outside the motorhome! Hoping to get flower planting after watching Coronation tomorrow.

Put our bunting up with sons help yesterday evening. Street looking good. Communal BBQ Sunday afternoon. Hope its not like the Jubliee one weatherwise 🤞

Good to see folks photos and catch up with news. Did a post with photos last evening - lost to essential maintenance.  Lost the will to retype.....

We've hardly ever used our room, AD.  We only keep a little bit of stuff outside and the windout is enough to keep it dry when it rains.  If the weather is too nasty to sit out we use the 'van.  The 'room' is quite heavy to put up, and all that pegging is a thing of the past... 🤣🤣

I put a reply on mid afternoon, but it seems to have vanished.

Anyway.....we will be watching the coronation tomorrow, likely to be the last in our lifetime as Charles is about our age.

Not so far planning anything special to eat, no sign of street  parties here, but we have goodies in the freezer, and prosecco in the fridge, so we  will celebrate  the occasion.

So......we are moving fuel supplier.....seemed easy, but not exactly so!

We are moving to Octopus, who we were with 3-4 years back.  OH is doing it as she is the account holder, so all went well till the last button when  they  said they thought we were already customers.

Seems their system had retained our details from before.  So  OH rang them, a long wait, they found there was a strange problem and were not-sure how to fix it.

Anyway, seems it will take time, and the next BH is delaying things, but hopefully we will be switched over by the 10th.

put a reply on mid afternoon, but it seems to have vanished.

I did similar last night, Kjell, with a long general post but it seems to have gone with the wind!yell So here goes again!

Helen, your trip sounds grand, and I hope you got to visit all the places you planned to see.

WN, good to read that all of you are now testing clear of the virus, and that you managed to meet up with your cousin for lunch.

Brue, I didn't know that they had made a film of Harold Fry's Pilgimage. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and intend seeing the film now.

Oneputt, if you don't mind me asking with whom did you get your new phone contract, as I am having problems changing mine.

Tda, it looked as if you had a great day out around Castleton and Mam Tor.

Moulesy, some great photos from your trip. Hope that you get a dry day for your Setter Walk.

Yesterday we had a good walk around the grounds and deer park at Attingham. Today we moved on down to a CL midway between Ludlow and Leominster for a few nights. Have had mixed weather with the odd heavy shower but much warmer than recent days.

Got my deal with Smarty, very quick and easy to do through U Switch.

Arrived in Essex, minus caravan, where we have rented a large seafront house for our Golden wedding anniversary

We did a bit of island hopping to Iona today, the drive over the island to the ferry took 1 and a half hours!  Weather was cloudy and very breezy, so trying to keep my phone steady to take photos was rather difficult. The island is lovely though.

We took the scenic route back to the site following the Loch, and the sun made an appearance, stopped off to see if we could catch another glimpse of the sea Eagles but no luck this time,  just a couple of Heron's and a few oyster catchers.

Hope all coronation celebrations go well, we have no TV or radio signal here so don't think we will be watching.

Moulesy looks like you are enjoying your trip, its Tideswell food festival next weekend if you are still on the area. We keep meaning to get back for a visit but somehow we have always been somewhere else.🤣
