Fabulous cakes KjellNN they look far too good to eat.
That's great news Deleted User User. Hopefully you're progressing?
Well a promising start to the day has turned sour. I'm on my 3rd outfit! Dog walking, gilet rather than coat, across the fields, 3/4's t-shirt, cardi & open toes on our return. Walk to shop chemist for bits just about warm enough. Off to the hairdresser - always cool, so jeans, extra top and thicker cardi, toes still exposed. Barely warm enough. Glad to get indoors where the heating is on. Not actually achieved very much, nice change as gardening 😀 has dominated every day for months.
Nice to catch up on others comings, goings and staying and living the photos.

A positive step forward AD. Have you had chemo, or is it on the cards at all?

A tale of two bridges today, as we walked from the tiny 3 arched Barden Bridge along the Dales Way to the wider 5 arched one at Burnsall. Plenty of wildlife along the way including curlews, a family of oystercathchers, a pair of dippers even a lone red kite and what must have been dozens of what I thought were shallows skimming the river but possibly sand martins judging by the holes in the high river bank on the far side?
This is one of my favourite stretches of the River Wharfe and familiar territory. 40 or so years ago when we lived in Yorkshire and I was running for Bingley Harriers we used to come up to the village of Appletreewick for our long cross country training runs - no showers at the end, but the pub landlord did arrange for 2 huge butts of cold water for a wash down at the end and then it was in for a pie and peas supper with a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor's "Landlord" for refreshments. Happy Days!

It's amazing how simple ordinary occurrences lift the spirit AD when you've not been able to do them for some time. Lets hope that the disease doesn't reappear and that you can slowly build up strength for getting away again. Best wishes.
Talking of strength, I'm devoid of it today. Fairly normal after a period of activity. OH got to play with the new Power Washer on the towcar this afternoon. She's done a grand job. She's got the job.
We're still showing negatives on the testing front and MiL still positive, although she did sit outside for a while in the sun watching the car washing.
Amazed when I called into the surgery this morning to drop off a prescription that needed changing as there were patients waiting to be seen by doctors/clinicians/nurses.
Lovely photos M. I wouldn't mind being dowsed for a couple of pints of Landlord.

That’s good news, chemo hit my OH terribly, but he persevered. Fingers crossed things keep progressing for you, it can seem like a long haul at times. 👍

That's really good news AD, it must have given you a real boost. As for going to B&Q, something which people normally don't think twice about, that must have been a milestone for you.
I hope that you'll be able to go "over there" in the not too distant future and wish you all the best.

Good to hear your news, AD, and fingers crossed that the medics give you the thumbs up for your proposed trip to Sardinia. All the best.

Sounds like a grand day out yesterday, Francis, and that you had as good a day too today.
Moulesy, more lovely photos from what looks like a good walk.
You will be overworkiing your OH, WN, with all these cleaning tasks you have assigned to her.
Didn't do an awful lot today, basic shopping and then as walk around the Battlefield site after lunch. Then, after a second walk round Dudley's walk through the blue bell woods behind the site, I spent a long time on the phone trying to sort out a new phone contract, but without much success, so must try again in a couple of day's time.

Isn't life complex and time consuming? sometimes I long for the old days. Stick with what's offered and get on with living 😂
Robsail good to hear from you. Hope you're doing ok all things considered.

AD,
A good friend of mine had a major heart problem while he was holidaying near Rome, AD. Friends flew out to give help & support to him & his OH. He had the problem of needing Medico support before he was passed fit enough to return home BUT he still needed a doctor with him when he flew. So t'insurers flew one out from London to ensure his Health and Safety was protected aok. It was only just before landing back in this country that the Doctor told everybody that he would soon be back at work because he was in fact a Doctor from a well known establishment in London ! Better known as Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital !! The patient was in his fifties at the time so everybody had a good giggle at his expense From time to time some folks delight in reminding him !!

Up early, fishing trip for OH, garden help for me and feeling a bit groggy after covid booster but not as bad as previous jabs...hooray! Visiting dogs also arriving plus gardener's dog plus ours it's going to be hectic. 🐕🦮🐕🦺🐕
The street flags are all up for the Coronation street party but the weather isn't too promising 😕

The key here is having the right insurance, my wife had a brain hemmorage whilst we were in Spain, she was eventually flown back to the UK via 2 x private ambulances, 1 private air ambulance, 1 doctor, 1 nurse, 2 x pilots, total cost approx £50k, we did have good insurance but the insurance companies do delve into your past medical history thoroughly before paying out just to ensure you declared all your aches and pains, and like all insurers any blip and they dont pay out.

We arrived on the Isle of Mull yesterday afternoon, calm crossing in sunshine from Oban so could enjoy the views. Bit embarrassed to find out that it was our car alarm that had been going off during the trip 😊😊
Our site is very remote no phone signal but some patchy WiFi. Lovely views and Quiet apart from the resident peacock's.
Will try and catch up and post pics later.

All the best AD, I was also spared chemo last year, just had radiotherapy.

Beautiful start to the day here. Let's hope it lasts, unlike yesterday.
Dug my bunting out yesterday but too chilly and grey to go further. I notice several houses in the village have started their decorations. So far I've seen 2 different Coronation flags from poles, 2 were alike. Weather here not promising, but I notice one App went from wet all day to wet morning showery afternoon today 🤞. There's a big event going on in the Pavilion and play area, the Coronation quiz is out for entries and entry's to the front of your house is open on fb. I'd have lived to do a red white and blue bed - but red tulips and snowdrops over, blue forget me nots doing well. 😂
Garden help arriving here very soon. Sans dog, our dog loves him and can't wait to help 😉. Not sure adding others to the mix would assist. Good luck with that brue.
Deleted User User do declare everything if you get the OK to fly. Better to pay out a few hundred unnecessarily than thousands if you need help. Keeping everything crossed that you'll make the trip. Warm sun does wonders for mind body and soul.

Change of plans for us. We were due to go to a CL in Lincolnshire today - but after Ros's fall over a month ago, she has gone steadily downhill (figuratively!) with a trapped nerve in her back and leg which means she now struggles to walk. So I cancelled the trip on Saturday and we will be spending the Coronation Bank Holiday at home. Bunting and flag went up this morning.
As a consequence, there's been a bit of a role reversal and I've now discovered how to work the washing machine
Just hope our GP was wrong when he said it could take anything up to a year for the nerve to become 'untrapped'!

I have never been much of a snooker fan either, but can understand why so many do like it. I used to really like the Sunday afternoon, 40 over, cricket matches with John Arlott's dulcet tones, which I found very relaxing. I wonder what he would have thought about 20/20 cricket? I definitely agree about the the ladies rugby.

2 hours of gardening for both of us today. OH cleared twice as much as I did. The garden needed it as it hasn't had anything done to it for a while. Going to feel the effects of it later.
Tried to sort out a transfer for a maturing ISA. They tell you it's an easy process completed fully online taking only 5 minutes of your time. They lied to me! Apparently our existing provider, someone well established and a UK company, doesn't appear on Santanders list so they can't do automatic transfer in. Have to print a form off and sign it and post it! I can't sign the form as I still cannot write with right hand. Chatbot doesn't know how to handle problem etc etc. Can I make an appointment to see someone at local branch? No because I need it doing in next 2 days and they don't have any appointments free. I gave up. Decided to leave it where it is.
Hope Ros recovers quicker than a year Richard otherwise you might have to learn how to use the iron as well.

Leg injuries can be very troublesome, especially the older you get! Did something to my right knee a couple of months ago which is now impacting on the whole leg. Been given quite strong anti-inflammatory drugs which seem to be working in taking most of the pain and discomfort away I don't think my doctor will want me to be taking them long term? Because of a long existing problem with my other knee I was advised by a Physio to always use a walking stick which I do find helps, especially on longer walks. Although it can be uncomfortable to walk it does tend to help unless advised otherwise. Hopes she starts to recover soon and you can get out and about in the van soon.

We decided to venture a little further afield today and, as we hadn't been for 40 something years drove up to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal water gardens. Simply stunning!

And since we were there or thereabouts, we stopped off at Brimham Rocks on the way home (you could easily spend a whole day there!)
