Nellie....we are on Mollance Farm.
Nice site, all hardstandings, good size, 2 shower rooms on the site, water tap too. Waste water, toilet emptying and rubbish about 25-30m away beside the farm buildings.
Their own website is very out of date on prices, says £18, but Is £25 now, which was a bit of a shock!
Off to Crofton Hall CL near Carlisle today......£22.

We could have been your visiting family Goldie (albeit only two of us). We found a fabulous Cornish farm based campsite back in 1983, and went back there every year, a few times each year, right through to 2001, when the campsite part of the farm was sold on. We used a lovely cottage on the same farm in the Winter, and after two barns were converted, we stayed in those as well. So four decades of staying in touch, the odd pop into the farm when we are in the area, and Christmas cards. It’s another generation running the cottages and a couple of static vans in the orchard nowadays, but we don’t half treasure some lovely memories, and some of the fun nights in the farmhouse sampling various tipples and nibbles. We love farm based holidays, there are some lovely people out there, willing to have folks staying, and we are always grateful. I am sure there are others like us as well, who have more than just a fee paying visitor relationship. They always wanted us to take our horse down, but it was too long a journey for a not very good traveller. We compromised and went riding in the local area😁

Interesting post. I must admit it has often been on the tip of my tongue to ask why you don't have a CL on your farm given your interest in caravanning. I think you post probably explains why you no longer have a CL so my curiosity has been partly satisfied

Never say never about a campsite. But don’t hold your breath!
If we did start up again it would be very different. I know there’s a trend for basic off grid, but any investment at the moment is ploughed into farming and nature.
Before we gave up in 2001 I did some costings which back then weren’t very encouraging.
And - maybe I’m alone with this in the family, but I don’t like strangers on the farm. I like isolation, while my husband will talk to anyone.

Busy day today. We started in Hawes where we went to the Creamery and bought some cheese (well it would be rude not too!) And then had a wander round Hawes and had a pub lunch. We drove to Hardraw force, passing the caravan site on the way which looked very full. We used to walk across the fields to the Green Dragon pub and the falls but OH is not up to that these days. Thrcfalls were very impressive after all the recent rain. We drove over the Buttertubs pass and on down through Swaledale via Muker and on to Reeth. OH is very happy man as that is his 'home area' as he had many relatives living in Swaledale. A trip round The Black Sheep Brewery and then on to Fountains Abbey is the itinerary for tomorrow.
Thanks for the info about the Masham Bones Nellie. I investigated and found them. A very interesting story.
I love your story about the family who camped on your CL Goldie.

I seem to have caught the big gaps syndrome. I am so sorry. I don't know how to sort it out.

You certainly had a full day out, millie, hope the rest of your stay goes as well.
Goldie, we have stayed a few times on your CL, many moons ago, as it was easy for us to get to from home on a Friday afternoon for a weekend away.
Thanks, Kjell, We have not stayed there, although we had booked once a few years ago but had to cancel when we had to return home to pick up a new car. Doubt we will use it at that price.
Coming home from our last trip I got a warning signal on the car's dash for a fault on its ABS/ESC and Tyre Pressure systems. I took it into the dealer's this morning, just after 8:00, for a diagnostic check which showed a defective ABS sensor on one of the rear wheels. Thankfully they had one in stock which they fitted, and I was able to set off back home by 10:30. Good service I thought, although rather expensive, but we daren't go away without it having been sorted. Out towards Levens there was heavy rain, and there is still snow on the Fells, but we missed it at home so OH said, with just an odd light shower this afternoon.

Our favourite day trip milliiehull, from Durham, coffee in Richmond or Reeth, over Buttertubs down to Hawes for lunch, either the creamery or pub lunch, then stop in Leyburn walk along the Shawl. There's usually a cake stall in Masham market sells very good fruit cake, goes very well with Wensleydale cheese, if you’ve run out the Cheeseman probably there as well.

It is a good CL nellie, but I agree on the price! However, we are finding that there are very few CLs that suit us (guaranteed hardstanding) that are still under £20 now that all their costs have risen so much. We have been glad of the HSs with all the recent rain.
Where we are now, we have to drive over the grass to get to the HS, and as it is very wet it is not ideal.
Sun out today though, so hopefully things will dry out a bit.

Well done Trikey, hang in there, you are on the home straight😁

A lovely day out Millie, lots of places we love. You probably know it, but the drive from Middleham, over Coverdale ending up in Kettlewell is very scenic, then you have options to get back from Kettlewell towards Ripon and Masham. There’s all sorts on the routes, and various eateries.
We love Middleham Castle, I always think the spirit of a young Richard III haunts the place and the surrounding moorlands. His little son, who died very young is buried in the church at Sheriff Hutton, just past the Castle there. Hope the weather is kind for the rest of your stay.
Another place worth a visit is East Witton Church, not far from Jervaulx Abbey (which has a lovely tearoom, and a nice CL/campsite). Richard Whiteley of Countdown and Calendar fame is buried in the churchyard.
Do you know about the “Hand of God” in Ripon Cathedral? It’s in the Quire, which is absolutely beautiful, lots of original carvings and misericords.

Neighbour home from hospital so we're fully back to normal.
Busy day yesterday and after encountering server errors on this website for the first few minutes yesterday I gave up as I had had enough.
Anyway I had to go to see my consultant yesterday afternoon so left Mrs.WN with the boxed awning to help delivery guy load it. He duly arrived, looked at it, picked it up, wing span needed was 4' and walked out with it. She said he didn't look like he could manage it but obviously he's used to it, we're not, especially as OH still has some Sciatica and my wrist is still weak. Hopefully that will be a problem solved.
Booked the caravan service and car service for summer so they don't interfere with any holidays.

Well it's still raining here in Wensleydale but we were not deterred and had another good day out. We went to Fountains Abbey this morning - such a beautiful place. We enjoyed a short walk but sadly didn't spend as long there as we would have liked because we were getting drenched!! We came back to the cottage to dry out and have some lunch and then went to The Black Sheep Brewery this afternoon. I think the itinerary tomorrow is Richmond Castle and then up to Tan Hill. We leave to come home on Sunday so not enough time for everything else we would like to do. Would have loved to go to Ripon Cathedral tda but sadly no time this trip or to go to Jervaulx Abbey either which we also love.
Glad to hear your neighbour is out of hospital WN. Good to hear that you managed to get rid of your awning. Are you now going to manage without one or get a smaller lighter one?

Kjell, I knew Crofton Hall had H/S but didn't realise one had to cross grass to get on the pitch, not the best after all the rain that they have had up that way. Hope the ground dries out for both you and ourselves over the next few days.
Sounds as if you had another grand day out millie, hope tomorrow is drier and you have another good day.
Good to read that your delivery guy arrived as arranged, WN, and that he manage without the help of your OH. Hope that the meeting with your consultant didn't raise any unexpected complications and all is as well as it can be.
We are now on a CL we used earlier in the year but now on one of the grass pitches. Thankfully the ground is fairly solid and there has not been many towing over it. It was fine at home when we got the van out and ready, but we ran into both hold ups and quite heavy rain on our way down here, and then more rain during the afternoon. At least it has stopped now and the forecast is for better weather.

Sounds like another full day Millie, Fountains is always lovely.😁 Glad you got away as well Nellie, and the awning has gone as well WN👍 Hope everyone out and about is having a good time, and those at home are ok.
We have had rain most of the day here, and it’s been rather cold as well. So no outside jobs today, just a pottering day at Mum’s, making sure she is ok and trying to keep her entertained. I managed to get a bit of jewellery made, Mum is always interested, loves colourful things and anything creative. Got home early enough to head off with OH to do some food shopping, only Aldi, but it was busier than usual. Pooch has had his annual booster, and his monthly arthritis injection, quite pleased as vet says he is doing really well considering his chronic joint issues and poorly eyes, everything else is sound. Planning a day out for next week, weather is looking much nicer. Joined RHS, so Harlow Carr might be nice, need to have a think🤔😁

Funny old day today, chilly with sun at times then this afternoon we had a hailstone shower. I was in the caravan at the time putting away some things, what a din it made. Within minutes it was over and the sun came out again.
Slowly getting things back into the caravan, it has been empty since end of August last year. Finding things not a problem for me I knew where I had put them, OH is a different story. If I hear one more time "where did I put" 😩😩😩
At least his back is a little better, just need to make sure it stays that way.
Have a good weekend.

A better start to the day here, a slight frost early on and finally some 🌞!
Hope you all have a good weekend.

Had rain all day yesterday and overnight about 25mm altogether and ground quite wet, a bit brighter today but still a chilly 9C outside.
We have friends coming over as solar panel connector under the panel not working so a new complete panel and system has arrived here so OH and friend will be busy sorting that out this afternoon and then tomorrow pm they are off for a few days trying the new panel out and being off grid and then they will be going home as they are full all through May with the B&B as the walkers are out and about as we have seen quite a few around here as the GR65 not far from us.
Like your photo lovely trees.
Have a good weekend folks and take care.
Forgot to say a large new step ladder has arrived this morning for the work to be done and OH had to direct the delivery van from village and he was parked the wrong way outside the Marie heyho but all ok must be his Midlands accent in French ha ha.

Have you been listening in to us TDA? We are aiming to go Harlow Carr on Tuesday, barring any unforeseen incidents!!! Haven’t been for a few years and we need some garden inspiration. Shame about your weather yesterday Millie, I thought about you whilst watching the rain yesterday. We have been housesitting for our neighbour as he is away near Beamish with family, sadly the weather hasn’t been kind to them either. Children back at school next week so it will be lovely!🤦🏻♀️😂

Lovely bright day here today might cook on the BBQ later. Not really much planned might do some work in the garden.
Hope everyone else has a nice weekend
Edit - Just noticed that my avatar has finally changed I updated that about 3 weeks ago and that’s the first time it’s shown as the new pic

😁 Would you believe I have never been Heddlo? We are only an hour away as well. I used up some Tesco points while you can still get triple value, and bought a membership of RHS. There’s the Bridgewater Garden over near Salford as well, so might get there this year as well.
Lovely morning here, after routine duties, I have been outside at Mums putting in a new Clematis, and putting in the wires and eyebolts for climbing roses. Currently pondering on Newark tomorrow🤔 There’s a Rock and Gem Show at the Showground. Might be some bargains. Always interesting, some of the traders that go own their own mines, and fetch lots of rubies, emeralds, diamonds etc…… nothing like trickling diamonds through your fingers🤗🤩

Well done Brian, I don't know about taking your card, maybe a wheelbarrow?!
Hope you enjoy Harlow Carr, Heddlo and TDA. We've been once, the good thing about RHS gardens is their year round planting, just as interesting in the colder months as in summer. Must admit I enjoyed a cake in Betty's too although that bit was unbelievably busy. Have just got the Gardeners World 2 for 1 mag, out now so we're well equipped for our garden visits over the next year.
Francis your profile pic changed (for me) a while back, can't fathom this system and just at the moment it's very difficult to get on to the website. No wonder it's very quiet.
Have enjoyed hearing about your Yorks trip Millie, sounds like you've made the best of it.
Picked up a Great tit that flew into our conservatory window today, quite a bang, but he finally recovered after I left him on a bench in the sunshine. Discovered a blackbird is nesting right by the windows too, in a Bay tree that needed pruning, that will have to wait. Still waiting to see a Swallow overhead, once the leaders come in we should see quite a few, their nest sites are open for business!

I bake all our own bread (well the breadmaker does) and buy flour in bulk from Shipton Mill. I always buy the same - "Finest Bakers White Bread Flour". I'm always amazed that the price never seems to change, despite the vagaries in wheat prices. But today I got a shock - £18 for 16kg! In December it was £15.50.
I can't really complain though, as it was £15.50 in March 2008 (15 years ago). That's as far back as my records go, so it may have been the same for longer.
How many other food stuffs have stayed the same price for 15 years?

Not even in lock down AD?
Millie, in answer to your question we bought a canopy awning a couple of years ago and will use that if we feel the need. It's very lightweight. We don't always put an awning up, in fact we probably only put it up if stopping for at least 6 nights or if needed for shade. We'll not bother for a while. Good to see your last day will be in sunshine.
Collected prescription from town early on today and popped into the library. Day then spent moving the caravan around to our packing area and gradually getting jobs done on preparing it. Inside packing tomorrow.
Hope this weather keeps up.
Francis I've been able to see your avatar for weeks. Have you just cleared your cache?
