Wonder what the price of those lodges will be and not cheap I expect, but they do look good inside.

Bladon Chains was always a funny little site tucked into a small area surrounded by roads. Whether the new clientele will be willing to pay what I am sure will be mega bucks for that location remains to be seen? I did see a price elsewhere but wasn't sure how long the stay was for and it seemed very expensive. Anyone wanting to visit the Palace would probably get a better bargain by staying in nearby Oxford in a hotel?

As we all know the likes of Facebook is rife with all sorts of rumours and one post suggested that Chatsworth was under review? I have no reliable information to back that up. The trouble with these Stately homes is that as new generations take over the running of the estates they have different ideas towards not only the facilities to provide but also the return on money invested.

On the resort map you can see a lot of accommodation has been packed onto the site...not a very tranquil spot or much privacy but it will no doubt be busy.

Or even nearer Witney in the Premier Inn. Or Travel Lodge. Woudn't recommend anyone trying to get into oxford with a car now.

I was disappointed when this site closed; probably 10 years of staying there when working in the area. Blenheim flower show, Nocturne, etc all made it a great visit. The noise was intrusive on upper pitches, and lay-by was a bit seedy!
Worst aspect of site was the managers: you couldn’t trust their mood, and anti-foreign views were prevalent . Some good, most bad.
The visitors where also 50/50; rude, intrusive and generally unfriendly.
This new venture looks a bit down market for Blenheim, but reflects general trends. Tourers are hard work for low returns, statics are money earners.

I have stayed on the old site two or three time and never found it particularly noisy. I parked outside there about 3 weeks ago to have my lunch, they were still working on the site. It is well screened from the roads by trees and under growth so it was difficult to see exactly what has been done but I did note additional planting hand been done to increase privacy.
