Not bad to start with, Young Francis, and it's got much better since I cleaned the windows both inside & out [ Thank you Mrs Karcher ]. It's a good job that the dusty stuff is a dirty grey and not brown or folks might think they had been bricked up .

Nellie Is your next trip going to be one of your longer ones now that your OH's dental visits have finished?
Yes, millie, hopefully it will be through to mid June. We agree about dreading the high cost of dental care if much treatment is required, hence us sticking with Denplan. Sorry to read that your OH is suffering with his back, hope that after giving it some rest he will be in less pain.
Pleased that the weather has been fine for all, and that you got home without any trouble, Francis. Now you will have the van to clean again, I guess.😁 A fine day here too, although not as bright as yesterday. I got the car washed today and finished off cleaning the inside of the van, so hopefully will get the outside done in the morning.

Happy Easter 🐣 to you all.
The fog is lifting and sun appearing here, light wind. Perfect for a gentle dog walk. Spring signs everywhere. Rape is being to bloom just seen 4 swifts, my first this year.
However you spend your day enjoy it.

I noticed that you mentioned that the recent Maintenance seemed to have solved your "gap" problem Bakers. Tried my Samsung last night and abandoned the post as spacing still occurring so it seems to be a problem with that particular machine ad the club. Everything fine with this MacBook though.
Had intended to go to Go Outdoors for a few bits and pieces this morning but my brother in France rang and that was all she wrote.. Took up the spare hour we had but great to have a natter with him. Really glad to hear that he finally has a neighbour, the farmers grandson and wife who have moved in. Getting a bit worried in case anything happened to him and no-one around.
We have Dog walking duties again this afternoon so that will get us some fresh air.

As it was a nice morning I plucked up courage to wash both the conservatory roof and the motorhome roof. Right knee still playing up so ladders are always a challenge! I used my new extending ladder which is easier to get from place to place.
Our neighbours, two doors down (see what I did there) are building a two storey side extension on their house. They are building over what was a single storey utility room and garage although the garage was converted to living accommodation some years ago before they arrived. Because the garage does not have a double block cavity they have had to install RSJ's to support the the upper floor. To create a cavity and suitable insulation they have constructed an inner stud wall which was covered with plywood and they insulated with high density foam sheets. All this will be encased in and outer brick wall. It's only the young owner (who is a builder) and his Dad doing most of the work and yesterday they seemed to have made a lot of progress. From my back garden I can sit in the sun and watch the progress!

So far so good since when I posted. No gaps no jumping cursor on my Samsung A13 phone. Has always been OK on my Samsung tablet. Its all very odd. But then we are taking about this site 🤐.
Beautiful here now, dried 3 loads of washing. Wouldn't dream of doing so on Christmas Day! Pottered in the garden and deadheaded 496 daffs. There's still more blooming. That doesn't count those I've picked since they started to bloom. Shame the garden has little established to follow them.
We have an invitation for dinner later so off to get ready.

We did an early sprint round Montacute House gardens this morning, knowing the Easter activities would be in full swing, it was already getting busy at 10am. Queued for a coffee and then had a nice walk admiring the spring planting and the "tufa" cascade in the orangery.
Back home to cook lunch for daughter's partner before he plays in a music session in Dorset. So extra dogs with us before he returns and joins daughter in windswept Cornwall. She say it's quite chilly down in the far SW. Sun has vanished here now, hope you all haven't been too busy!?

Have just treated myself a "what are you are all to" binge with a cuppa, lovely to catch up and see all the photos. 🙂
Been a busy Easter weekend, we had a lovely get together of friends and neighbours on Friday afternoon, weather was perfect and we had plenty of wine and laughs.
Yesterday went for a longish walk, and called in at a local garden centre for a mooch round the plants. Had a video call with youngest son to sort our trip to Manchester in a couple of weeks, he'd been out training on his bike, round Macclesfield this time, said it was a much easier ride than the last one from Manchester to Holmfirth 😯
Today OH had "Daffy" the MG out of the garage so we had a ride out round some of the local villages, calling in at the Herb Centre and then on to NT Canons Ashby where to had a picnic in the sunshine 🌞also lots of children enjoying an Easter treasure hunt.
Hope everyone has had a good Easter, not too much chocolate 🤣

Good to read of those getting out and about, and like the photos brue.👍 Happy Easter to one and all.
Washed the outside of the van this morning, and loaded a few things in, bedding, towels etc, so just about ready for the off again.

Good to read of others enjoying the Easter sunshine. Your photos of Montacute House are lovely Brue and I like the sound of your get together with your neighbours Helen.
We have had a lovely Easter Sunday. We went to the Easter Day service at the Cathedral which was packed. We haven't seen as many people there since before lockdown. We then went to see our grand-daughter and family to deliver Easter eggs. 3 year old great grandson was very excited. Later we went to our daughter's for a wonderful Easter meal. So nice to get together with the family. Getting packed up for our Yorkshire Dale's trip tomorrow.
I hope both Nellie and KjnN enjoy their forthcoming trips.

We are out in the van now in Sussex. Went to Arundel Castle today with Son and family. Brilliant day both in terms of weather and entertainment it being a medieval reenactment type of day. The gardens were a delight with spring blooms and lots of trees in blossom

Weather changed here now after a glorious couple of days it’s now raining. Hope all those about to head off enjoy their trips.
Nellie - Didn’t clean the van yesterday as we aren’t away now until the end of the month so at some point in the next couple of weeks it will get it’s BIG clean when the roof gets done too maybe next weekend lol

Local afternoon out for us. A dry but cloudy and cool morning, but midday we got a bit of sunshine, so we drove over to Cusworth Hall, which is one of Doncaster Council’s Country Parks and Museums. Never been before, but enjoyed it. Good local history inside, and nice woodland and lakeside walks. It was busy up by the Hall, but steady further away. Pushed the pooch up some right old inclines, he had a ball today, even taking the plunge in the Lake (thankfully clean😱) at one point. Free accept for car parking, which was very reasonable. Good place to go back to when it’s a bit quieter.

Francis, by the sounds of your weather you did right not cleaning the van today. We had a fine day, but as it is forecast to change I had to get the van cleaned this morning. As I had only cleaned it around 3 weeks ago, before our latest trip, it wasn't very dirty and it didn't take me overlong to complete the job.
Tda, that looks like good place to visit. We must find a small site in the area as there are quite a few historic properties around the area we would like to go to.

We had a Turkey Dinner for Easter Lunch yesterday. The bird had been lurking in the bottom of the freezer and it's time was up. There were only seven of us and I think I over-catered. There seems as much left in the fridge as I put on the table. Despite one grandson going home with a dish of Choclate Mousse under his arm, and the other one carrying a large leftover trifle. Fortunatley I was able to hang onto the meringues, so we can have them today.
Having watched the weather forecast work didn't stop for the weekend - rolling and muck spreading carried before the forecast rain arrives.
Time now to strip the turkey!

Hi Goldie I greatly admire anyone who farms as it is often a thankless job. No weekends or bank holidays off from milking cows or looking after other livestock and of course, arable farmers (as my grandparents were), are often slaves to the weather. I am a huge advocate of solar panels (I have had them on my house for 12 years) and am pleased for you that you are finding them a big energy saver. I hope that you will be able to manage to have some time away in your van this year.

Very interesting Nellie, we will go back at a less busy time and leave pooch in car while we look around Museum. Some nice walks, not far. It has a good Pizza outlet, and a micro brewery as well as a nice looking cafe. Dog friendly apart from inside Museum.
We live in a bit of a camping black hole area, there are few CLs, CS and even private sites, close by, yet there are some fantastic places to visit. There are some nice Sites, but expensive. We have found Bawtry Caravan and Camping Site, which has good reviews, good links, not far from Cusworth, Brodsworth, Conisborough, Wentworth. There are a couple of CLs, CS sites, and Waleswood, which is based at Rother Valley Country Park. Not sure on prices though. There’s another called Greensprings which is more Barnsley based, good for Wentworth Woodhouse, Wentworth Castle, Cannon Hall, Elsecar Heritage, RSPB Old Moor.
If any MH owners fancy a look around our bit of Yorkshire, there’s a good Britstop at a pub called The Sitwell Arms, village pub with nice food. Easy road links to get around.
Sorry our drive is out, full of MH and Jeep😁

Not been a good week. Granddaughters diagnosis was worse than the epilepsy one we feared. Still more tests but they seem pretty sure. This is on top of her already health problems. She seems in denial but it will be difficult for her now to go back to Uni. She will need a lot of care. Her Mum is disabled and it’s difficult for her to look after our granddaughter when she has an episode, but she has a friend staying for a few days who can help so it was arranged that our granddaughter would go there for a couple of days to give us a break. We planned a day out today with our Son and family but OH is unwell and has tested positive for covid this morning!
I don’t think that I will be posting on here for a little while, but I will be looking in now and again to read about all your adventures. Take care everyone.

No DEBSC please look after Yourself !!
Thats much more important than us old fogeys self--monitoring !! The Family's problems can be just too much for us if we start worrying over much since the scamps start hiding things from us if we are too obviously worrying about them and their problems.
So you look in as often / seldom as you like and remember that some of us have a twisted sense of humour and might, just might, be busy teasing each other with tales of caravan / motorhome roof cleaning or other, more extreme, trials and tribulations !
Very Best Wishes for you and your Family
Brian.

Look in when you can Debsc, our best wishes go out to you all. I am practically full time caring at the moment and know just how hard it is. Look after yourself….

I'm so sorry to read this. Thoughts and prayers are with you, and your family.
Take care of yourself - pop in for a read or post from time to time. It might 😉 help your sanity. I echo ABM's comments.
there seems to be many cases of covid around again. Hopefully you'll avoid it.

Very best wishes to you and your family DEBSC. You do all seem to have more than your fair share of worry and problems and I really do feel for you. As ABM has said look in as often/seldom as you like but do remember that you have our sympathies and you can always get 'things of your chest' to us. We will be thinking of you. Take care of yourself.

After a few glorious days we have rain - like most of the country!
Must have been lots overnight, loads of standing water, but it appeared to be very fine and heavy most of the morning. Dog walk was a soggy one. Brightened around lunchtime 😀 now we have sunshine very heavy rain and strong winds.
Hope those away are not to badly affected and those travelling are keeping safe.
Awaiting the family for dinner, so idling on here as I've got as far as I can 😉

Oh DEBSC. What can one say? I feel for your Granddaughter. Not only for her diagnosis but for her stolen dreams.
As others have said it might help you to look in every now and again on the Forum just to give yourself a break. Carers need a break as well.
Best wishes

Went to Go Outdoors to pick up a foldable lightweight trolley, which I was assured they had in stock, only to find they didn't.
Anyone in the Chester area and needing anything from them should know they are having a 30% sale off everything as they are closing down to refit the store but hurry if you intend going as it won't be long before they close down.
Afternoon spent getting wet and blown around walking the dog. A good long walk though and anyway that's what waterproofs are for. Dog seemed to enjoy the longer walk.

Oh dear Debsc, you must all be on overload, so sorry to hear your news, do hope help will be found. Hope your OH is ok, time for a few days off and some gathering of strength, will be thinking about you.
Hope you are coping TDA and you can get some rest too. When you mentioned places to visit in your area we had tried to make time for a Wentworth visit but couldn't work out a good place to stay etc. So it's good to hear there is somewhere.
We just had a silly drama. I keep family history stuff in an underbed drawer. I opened it today and the cat decided in a flash to enter the bed via the drawer....he's a bit on the plump side so not a good idea. When he eventually re-emerged I found he'd pushed stuff from the storage bit into the bed cavity....OH, a torch and a toasting fork finally retrieved the missing items....grr, or should that be meowwwww?!
