My passion is sailing. We have a 28' traditional Broads yacht , and as an RYA instructor I volunteer at a local charity which provides sailing and boating for disabled and disadvantaged people on the Norfolk Broads. Two of their motor cruisers can be seen on their moorings near the Norfolk Broads club site.

    I think there are a few of us ex-yotties on here GT.  Many moons ago I had a 38' Westerly Oceanranger which had pride of place on the Westerly stand at the '93 Southampton Boat Show.  Ros and I sailed her from Hull Marina to the Med and ended up in the Greek islands before returning home two and half years later.  Lots of adventures, including being struck by lightning in a 100 knot gale in Corsicafrown. Eventually sold her - which was a big wrench - but then had a couple of motor cruisers ( a Linssen and then a Broom) which we used to potter about on the Trent and adjoining waterways. Returned to caravanning about 10 years ago.

    { Whisper it quietly  but I'm sure there's at least one more Mariner [retd]  posting regularly on CT  and he has very similar initials  too  sealed  }

    Sold my LM30 Danish motor sailer almost 12 years back. At least I don't have to scrub and antifoul the motorhome. I don't miss the work in cold wet boatyards but when the sky is blue and the tide's in, well that's slightly different.
