The CAMC doesn’t have and has never had only three pricing seasons at the majority of sites. At least in the 18 years we have been members. Therefore a slightly different situation. Remember the fuss made re the old system with its zillions of price bands due to mid week discount at some sites.
I suspect the a CAMC would argue now, that it’s so quick to load up an individual site and scroll through the years prices for your selected pitch type / party, that it does the same job as the other clubs chart. OK they might go up slightly but it certainly gives you a fairly accurate guide.I just timed it for Cirencester and it took precisely 25 seconds to get to the calendar, which you can then scroll through for the year.

Challenge…… tell me what price I will pay if I roll up at Cirencester on 1st September 2023, and want to book and pay on the day of arrival?
The SD doesn’t tell me, I doubt a phone call to Site will tell me, I doubt going via central booking or Live Chat will tell me either🤷♀️

You can’t, that’s what dynamic pricing is all about. However, no amount of tables / charts in hard copy or digital is going to tell you either. It wasn’t even possible under the old system 100%, as there was the occasional rare mid season increase. Certainly my experience of the other club indicates it wouldn’t be possible there either, as they also vary prices as the year progresses.
As I put earlier, given the increases since last September to my bookings, I wouldn’t expect more than plus £1.50 a night on todays prices. That’s as close as your going to get.
Of course come 1st September you will be able to check the current price before you arrive very easily and decide if it is acceptable.

I'm all for customer information, especially when the customers have chipped in a membership fee!! C&CC provide a tariff, seasonal dates (which vary in the uk) prices for all the extras and these are provided in a clear direct way with the directory and on line. We all know that prices will fluctuate, I wouldn't like to second guess anything but it's good to start from a base line.
When I look at CAMC, how are the prices structured, for instance, are there pitch fees anymore?

Not quite sure what the obsession is with knowing what something will cost in six months time? You can check today what the price will be if you book now. However with the flexible pricing method now employed by the Club the price could go up or down? Who knows what could happen in six months? The price of electricity could fall through the floor meaning prices would go down or it could happen the other way. This may sound silly but you can't walk into a supermarket tomorrow and say to an assistant I would like to buy a cabbage in six months time, how much will it cost me? The only certainty is what it costs today. With the Club system as it now is you either commit to booking now and pay a deposit or you take the chance that leaving it for six months means that the price could have gone up or down. The choice is yours. We have not booked anything yet because we are having some work done on the house but as soon as that is finished we will start thinking about where we go. We will be inclined to book closer to the time of arrival and if that means I pay a little more for the convenience of not booking months ahead so be it. However you cut the cards the Club system is still more generous that most similar commercial sites where I would pay a deposit and and the full fee usually 4/6 weeks ahead of arrival. If I don't turn up due to some unforeseen circumstances I lose the lot. It happened to me last year.

Earlier PD suggested that six months was sufficient time Ito familiarise with the new "booking experience". Given that adjustments, tweaks and other alterations must make it something of a moving target, could someone who is not technically nimble rely on it being the same next time they use it. Whatever happed to KISS?
If I want an "experience", I'll go to Silverstone or Thruxton and release my inner Jeremy Clarkson thanks very much.

I don’t think I’ve come across an app or a web site that isn’t being update fairly regularly. Sometimes in a small way, sometimes a full revamp. Apple update their operating system every year, which normally results in some changes to programmes I use. Often just how things look but occasionally different functionality.

The Club can argue all it wishes, and you too if you wish, but I am unconvinced that this lack of information is a good ploy.
I am not sure either of us are arguing just expressing a point of view. Which is that I am very happy with the pricing information provided. Perhaps not the actual prices, but that’s another argument.😉

What is the Club really trying to do? Close the caravan touring industry down?
Club site prices are absolutely outrageous. How can the powers to be justify £33.50 per night for 2 people at for example Castletown club site off peak!
At this rate of price increases coupled with high fuel prices, all of which only line the pockets of other people, I don’t give caravanning/motor-homing a very long future.
Another side effect of this scale of charges is that it does little for CL prices neither. CL owners see what the club is charging and that gives them a huge margin to raise their prices so they too are becoming unrealistic too. CL are fast becoming full time businesses not the “side line” add on they used to be.
We have been club members now for 48 years and have been caravaners for 52 it’s sad to see what’s happened to our wonderful hobby in the most recent years. Yes prices must go up but come on club let’s be realistic - do you really need to charge us so much? You surely can’t blame increase electric prices, we know how much we use at home and we definitely use less in the caravan. Trying to claw back ones losses from covid shutdown is probably more like it. It’s sad.4 -

Another reason I like to have a price guide is to be able to see things like when they put their prices up/down for school holidays.
Easter seems to have stretched to 4 weeks, Whitsun gets longer each year as do all the school breaks.
With a price guide (even if it's only a from) you can see the dates when the price rises and falls, at a glance.
I use this to avoid high periods and sites full of families. Nothing against them but as we can go at anytime we choose to avoid where possible.
