Greenflag
Just a question.im sorry if this is in the wrong group but I didn't know where to post it. I joined greenflag through the club site and it cost me £140 as I though it was extra to cover recovery of my vehicle and caravan. My wife joined and it cost her much less but when I read the comparison sheet of benefits we get exactly the same ? Am I missing something or have I just paid over the odds for the same cover?

Did you purchase ''Greenflag' cover, or 'Mayday' (the CAMC version). We have 'Mayday' and, although we don't have the most expensive cover (although we almost do), we don't pay quite as much as £140 for both of us. We're both covered in any vehicle (and even as a passenger).... e.g. I went shopping with my son, and his cat broke down on the way home. His car was recovered under my Mayday policy.
Our policy is: Roadside & Recovery, Home Call and Personal Cover. If we breakdown on the way to a pre-booked site, we can be towed to the site, and if the car cannot be repaired in time, they will recover you home at the end of the stay. If you breakdown whilst your caravan is on site, they will 're-unite' you with your van before recovering you home. Should you be towing and need to be recovered home, they will take your caravan to storeage and then take your car home (or to the repairers). As we have 'Personal Cover' my wife and I are both covered in any vehicle. Our premium this year was £132.50...

Thanks for the replies I think I need to investigate as skodaman says .I didn't think my wife's car would be covered and yes it was mayday.

May Day is an absolute shambles of a breakdown company.
My husband told the staff at Green Flag that there was two people in the car, but when the breakdown chap arrived to look at the car and find out what the problem was, he told my husband that my daughter wasn't allowed to come in the breakdown truck as there was only two seats - this was absolutely disgusting as my daughter has right sided Cerebral Palsy and deafness.
We now have a Volkswagen Transporter camper van and we rung up Green Flag while staying at Daleacres Caravan and Motorhome Club site in Hythe, Kent as we had a damaged wing mirror and so we couldn't see to drive, as anyone would know that owns a camper van or motorhome needs to rely on their wing mirrors and Green Flag wouldn't come out at all, they just told us to go to Halfords and get it fixed. I won't be renewing my May Day breakdown cover this year.

£140 seems an awful lot - I've just had my renewal notice for Mayday and with Basic cover plus Extra Care (to provide a driver if I am incapacitated for any reason), it's £87 - and much to my surprise, that's exactly the same as I paid last year.
