Yes, I hope those under the weather are feeling a bit better.

I have made peeper keepers in the past, beaded ones of course😁

Bike ride for me today, Trento Cycleway in Italy. It was sunny🤣 Then dropped some more stuff off at craft shop, home to help OH make some marmalade, so all in all a nice day.

TG funnily enough we were talking about South Queensferry only the other day as we recalled parking in that car park and cycling along the coast to Bo'Ness Harbour via Blackness Castle. A really enjoyable day.

Good job your son didn't buy his glasses from SpecSavers.😂

The fifth fine day on the trot, don't know what we've done to deserve this. Not as hard a frost last night at Delamere, but a chill wind blowing when we got to the latest stop on this trip, a CL with H/S, serviced pitches, grand views and a bargain at £17 pn.

Nice to read of your tour yesterday, TG, we know that coastal route well as we have stopped at Upper Largo a few time to meet up with my cousin, now unfortunately disceased.😞

Glad the weather held for your trip to pick up the new car, WN. Hope you both are pleased with it.

Bet you are glad the rain held off for your bike ride, tda.😄 How are the sales going of the jewellery you're making, well I hope. Will your OH be setting up a "Home Produce" stall at the road end in the spring?

Life and work (the same thing really) goes on as normal here. Husband Henry's new hip is now 32 days old. He's easing himself back into work as there seems to be a lot going on this week. He went out to milk yesterday afternnon and today we reset the alarm to 04:58 (gives two minutes to wake up enough to listen to the news) and was out the house (banana in hand) by 05:20. I was caught on the hop at 07:30 as breakfast wasn't quite done.

Thanks Nellie. I am hoping to do the Grand Canyon ride later this week, need to check the weather though🤣 craft sales are steady, ours isn’t an affluent town, so I make and sell things priced accordingly. Do make one off pieces for friends and family though, much my cup of tea.

Most of our street residents are makers and crafters, all sorts of different skills, from craft beers, exotic cuisine, wood crafts, gardeners, etc….. There’s a lot of trading going on, makes for a nice friendly place to live😁

Glad to hear Mr Goldie is doing well👍

Managed another hour in garden this afternoon. Well in front now with tidying, bark chippings head my birthday list, then it’s just watch things grow😁

It has been a miserable day weather wise today with rain and drizzle nearly all day. Flyte and I  managed our usual number of walks out , although OH didn't bother, thankful to give her knee the rest, I guess.

That reminds me that twenty years ago now I left the petrol cap off after filling up in the 'top' petrol station in Keswick and every single time we've passed it since (and that happens a lot as we're there a lot) Mrs C asks 'I wonder if they have found that cap yet?'

Up early today so watched a big flock of Fieldfares moving in and out of the oak tree which hangs over our garden. They land in the field, then swoop up again. We don't usually see so much activity. My cough is keeping me from sleeping so at least my eyes can be distracted by something! Neighbours have flu so we're all in it together. .

I was hoping to have a walk around Forde Abbey this weekend, maybe tomorrow things will improve. I managed to book two stop overs for our early trip north, we have worn a path on this route to see our son and family (and previously other family in the NE) and I've been trying to find something of interest to break the journey and get off the motorways. At the moment lots of places are on limited opening so it's harder to get the time timings right. It will give me something to do today to work out the stops on the return journey.

Grey weather here but slightly milder, jobs outside will have to wait!

I have a really embarrasing story about a petrol station.....

Saw some really low priced fuel so decided to stop and fill up.  Got back in the car, gave Carol my phone - she usually puts in the mileage and litres in my phone app to work out the mileage.

Half a mile down the road she tells me that the price was coming out as about 5p a litre more than advertised on the 'price board'...  I turned around and headed back to the petrol station to complain.  I held up the queue at the till, explaining that the price was coming out as more 5p more expensive than advertised.  The poor chap on the till just couldn't understand it and couldn't do anything about it.  He suggested I rang his manager to get it sorted.  By this time I was getting quite cross (unusually for me - I'm usually quite laid back).  As I exited the shop, the matter being unresolved, I pre-warned all those waiting to pay to carefully check their receipts before parting with their hard-earned cash....

We continued on our jouney.  Half a mile down the road, Carol took a sharp intake of breath.  It worked out that there were two receipts for fuel in my phone case and she had entered in the details from the fuel from a different petrol station we had used the previous week!!!!

After the fuss I made complaining not only to the cashier at the petrol station, but to all the customers lining up behind waiting to pay, I am too embarassed to go to the same petrol station again...  Everytime we pass this petrol station, we just have a little chuckle to ourselves and drive on by!!!

    😳😳

Never done that TW, but I do remember in our tenting days, when we used to carry stuff in a small trailer (that's got to be at least 45+ years ago), driving off with the handbreak on.... I reckon the handbrake wasn't that good anyway, as I must have driven at least 20 miles before I noticed the smoke coming from the back or the car.  The handbrake certainly wasn't much good after that little episode!!!  🤣🤣🤣

We had a nice evening last night out for dinner at one of our local pubs for daughters birthday. Then home and had a few drinks. Plan today is to clean out the inside of the caravan new towbar and electrics have now been fitted on the new car so hoping we can get away later next week weather permitting. We are looking forward to tow testing the new car fingers crossed all is ok.

Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

Been watching the story on Look East. I was concerned that people had been hurt but the engineers were all obviously at a safe distance thank goodness.

This reminds me of a friend of mine and the 'Australian' 50 pence piece.

On his way home one night, after a tough day at the office, he popped into Sainsburys to buy a few things. On examining his change he noticed that a 50p coin he'd been given didn't look right, and demanded that the check out operator change it.

'I don't want that' he said 'It's Australian!'

'How do you know?' said the operator

'Its got the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the back' he replied, pointing furiously to the back of the coin

'I'm sorry' she said 'But I can't open the till now until the next customer comes through'

Incensed by this appalling customer service, he demanded to see a manager. After all, 50p is 50p, and Sainsburys were guilty of passing on dodgy money.

In due course a manager appeared, opened the till and swapped the coin for a 'real' one.

As he jammed the precious item into his pocket, the manager said...

'Oh by the way, it isnt the Sydney Harbour Bridge Sir, its an open book in celebration of libraries, and they use Dollars and Cents in Australia, not Pounds and pence...have a nice day!'

    He shops at Tesco now

    Very droll🤣😁

I always follow OH out on a ride, he has cameras front and back so clocks all the drivers who get too close. He can’t monitor me though, so he occasionally gets away, and then has to come back looking for me, see what I am up to as I have been known to fall off you know, or bollards leap out at me🤭 Apparently he’s fitted rear view mirrors on ends of his handle bars, but personally, I just think that will add to his stress🤷‍♀️

I tend to have a horror of  losing the remote from the A frame so once I have got the car close enough  I sit on the back of the estate car and guide the van onto the tow hitch then  leave the remote in the boot!

I had a result this morning. I had to get the steps to access the top of those tall larder cupboards you cannot reach the back of. I found a packet of Chocolate Hob Knobs and was well happy.

My mood did not last long as my IKEA delivery that afternoon did not turn up. Appears DPD are as bad as Hermes or Herpes or Evri or whatever they now call themselves. At least I had a cup of tea and a nice biscuit to calm me down.

I think, Colin, that most of the problems with Evri { aka Hermes } is due to the deliverers !! I've noticed that quite a lot of my deliveries used to be by a Lady of a certain age in a SUV or similar and always ok BUT once or twice recently it has been noticed that the problems only arise with blokes in their thirties ~~  the photos they provide are quite often useless for ID purposes !!

Sorry we haven’t had chance to read recent posts so we hope all is well with all.   Arrived in Macau on Wednesday, getting over the jet-lag now.  Met new grandson (5 weeks old now) and had a lovely 4th Birthday Party with granddaughter yesterday.  A few pictures (I hope) view from our sons apartment, rather a concrete jungle for our taste but very swish for here.  We visited a surreal version of London, Venice, Paris and enjoyed the roof of Crystal Palace and Eros? 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Well thats spooky 👻! I just sat down to breakfast and thought I'd catch up on here. It popped into my mind about your trip and there was your post!

Delighted to read of your safe arrival and experiences. Not been to HK but understand if you have a good view, photograph it before it disappears...

Just plodding along here with hard landscaping. Going to look very nice when it's finally finished. Commencing week 7 this week. Had to take the hose to the veg area, with a mop 😱. Talk about house proud. Been delaying it as I didn't want to.upset the weather, but needed to see the slabs cleaned of muddy footprints. Also found some bits of staining, possibly the local clay and concrete - will chat to the guys tomorrow. I didn't feel up to a scrubbing brush. Got a cold that neither comes nor goes?

Built a couple of IKEA cupboards and shifted, with help, bookcase. Aiming to empty the last moving boxes - contains board games and childhood toys. Still not up to playing board games, plenty else to pass the time! But if we don't get out the childhood toys out, they may have to skip.a generation!

Trying not to stew about daughter and family in NZ. Not in the frontline, as it is at the moment, but will definitely catch some. Was doing ok until I learnt she hasn't got the shade 'sail' down because she has a bad back. Don't ask why her OH can't help...... She says lots of schools, not hers - which is the same as the girls, are closing. Doesn't mean things won't change.

Right off to walk Dora, then I think.another minimal doing day.

Good to read others news and wish those poorly better

Spacing was fine until I edited........ not done anything different. Mainly cos I forget not  paragraph and can't find predictive text. As suggested by others. It's even moving the cursor so I found I was typing in the middle of a previous line...
