First timers

We"ve had our motorhome for getting on 6 months,due to sudden family illness we have not been away yet and would just ask fellow members to recommend a site for first go.Our requirements are simple..East Coast from Norfolk up as far as Whitby,pub nearby or club house,beach within walking distance,electric hook up and accepts dogs

Any recommendations??

    Seacroft Club site or for something a bit more lively Skegness Sands. It is best not to stray too far from home on the first trip, perhaps just a short trip, a couple of nights, to make sure everything is in order before going further afield.

    Agree about Seacroft easy access to everything you want and buses if needed. Whitehouse Beach at Kessingland is another, pub next door and beach on your doorstep. It does depend when you want to go as both these sites don't open until mid March. 

    Further north Cayton Village is another suggestion, nice pub in the village next door to the site. Beach about a mile away. For Whitby you could consider this site http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/sandfield_house_farm.html No onsite clubhouse but not far out of Whitby and a path from the site to the beach. Also a good bus service from the mainroad.

    +1 for Cayton Village, walk to the beach is safe but accessing it is via a steep uneven path or sloped road & steps.... not for anyone with mobility issues I would say....

    If you are near/based Norfolk, Searles of Hunstanton would be a good place to 'trial' a few nights to get used to setting up etc & not be far from home.

    Easy access to beach & town.

    Hi

    Some good advice from peedee and DK above, both good sites and locations. All club sites at present have electric hook up (unless stated) in the pitch fee and dogs go free.

    Another good source of research is www.ukcampsite.co.uk that will also give you plenty of commercial sites to look at. If you go to a club site mention to the staff that you're "newbies" and they will help if you need it. We're a pretty friendly bunch.

    You can go on your profile and change "screenname..." to one of your choice.

    There is C&MC rally at Searles in March see >here.< Rallies are aways a good place for lots of help if required. My very first outing in 1989 was to a rally 6 miles from home. We were made very welcome.
