Quick poll
Hi everyone,
We are looking to get your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts for some membership research about your touring experiences. We are looking at how you eat when staying on our campsites and the purchases you make when you are away in your caravans and motorhomes. If you have a spare moment we would be really grateful if you could answer the questions on this poll: Quick Poll
Many thanks.

That was quick and easy!

The yes/no responses won't tell much. For example, we do buy from local shops but very little indeed. So not enough information for Caravan Club to use as a lever that caravanners bring local business.

It's so they can turn round and say "We asked and you replied...." and implement whatever they want, as usual.

I did wonder what would happen if you clicked the non-member button whether that might have lead to more questions? The sort of questions asked and the results are often used to promote the fact that members contribute to the local economy. For example 89.5% of members buy fish and chips when they are away on site? We will have to await the Infographic.

"I did wonder what would happen if you clicked the non-member button whether that might have lead to more questions"
No, there is nothing further.

Well it did refer to Pubs! What might have been of interest to them would have been what is your average spend when touring? CAMpRA did a survey, perhaps two years ago and from just under 10,000 replies the aveage came to about £48 per day. Last year my spend was much higher some of which must have been due to increased prices.

Both ways are exactly the same. There is nothing more at all as i said above. I tried both (but only submitted one) and the final page takes both to 100%.

You are being scrutinised in terms of spending power. Club have gone all out recruiting number crunchers and analysts, whose task it is to ensure that the Club is getting the maximum spend from Members wherever possible. It might mean some partnerships with pub chains, eatery chains, etc…. So Members might gain some discount, and the Club partnership income🤷♀️
Unless there’s going to be a chippy on each Club Site🤔🤣

I did the 'survey' after reading your comments. I answered all questions as yes.
They were soooo bland, what are they trying to establish?? If I was a primary school teacher and had set the task I wouldn't have been impressed by the questions. My personal opinion. More members money being spent to accomplish what?
As I don't know what questions were asked, mine were on shopping, food purchase - eating out, rake away and young local shops. The howi travelled, other jn my case, then it askIed if I was member - no. End I'd survey.
Huge spaces in my text, too fiddly to clear on my phone - android. Another improvement with essential maintenance 🤐

I filled it in, but thought that the choice of answers was too "black and white" to really reflect how we shop and spend while away.
For example.......we rarely plan to eat out, but will occasionally have lunch if visiting a NT property or in a town. We don't normally frequent pubs, or eat out in the evening, but may do so if our stay includes the date of a birthday or anniversary.
With shopping, being away over several weeks we do of course need to shop "locally" but would normally use a supermarket we are passing anyway, and other than the occasional farm shop, would not use more expensive small shops. This is the same as we do at home.
We do eat fish and chips, used to frequent visiting or nearby vendors, but now more likely to buy to cook in the van, or have them for lunch on a day out. We find the take away options often a bit greasy, and the portions generally too large, not to mention the prices these days!

There is a chippy on quite a few sites at least one day a week. I answered yes to the chippy, purely as we will be taking the granddaughter for a few days. So one use out of 120 days. However, the pub / restaurant question says plan to. Answered that no as we have no plans, but who knows. I honestly can’t see they are going to learn much from such a survey.

Although I answered mostly yes I thought the "Do you intend to buy clothes, mementos etc" was a bit odd as I have to admit I never " intend" to do anything but it can happen.
I suppose the answers can help in planning applications etc showing how enthusiastic most of us are to boost the local economy?

Yes, we are the same brue, we usually end up buying a few things that will be birthday or Christmas presents for our children and grandchildren. It is interesting to visit shops that we do not have nearby up here, such as the designer outlets and the Clarks village.
In the dim and distant past we would always buy a few things when away on holiday, like glassware in Sweden, but in the last 10 years have pretty much stopped buying "stuff", we have too much already!

Mine was all yes on the first page, I wonder if the club will use the data it collects to try and persuade local (to club sites) pubs and eating places to offer discounts to club members?
This already happens in quite a few few places already, usually small towns and villages with a club site nearby.
