85 nights for us this year, between April and late October, but 4 of them were paid for by DD in return for towing and setting up/packing up our van for them to use for an additional 3 separate weeks. For the 81 that we paid for, our average was £21.
We used a mix of small commercials, CLs and CCC sites.

Shopping on the 23rd was not too bad, managed to get most of what we needed, and more, in our nearby Lidl, then went to Asda for petrol, and stocked up on some Baileys and a few other bottles. Some for us and some for gifts. Queue to leave Asda CP was huge when we arrived, but had subsided by the time we left.
Later on we wrapped all the parcels for DD and family, and yesterday went down to them for a "party food" dinner. On the way we braved M&S to pick up our small order to take to DS on the 25th........the queue for food collection was very long, the shop busy, but the checkout queues were moving well. Shelves were still well stocked.
We had a lovely afternoon with the children, the food was good, and I got to do bedtime too, so it was after 9pm before we were home again.
Today we still have a few parcels to wrap to take along tomorrow, and a little food to prepare, but mainly we are relaxing and "doing the accounts".
Have taken meter readings today, and use this year is well down on the same time last year, though not costs of course! New boiler is certainly helping, gas use is down by about 30% despite the very cold weather. We celebrated by turning the heating back on at midday!
I hope all those who are under the weather are on the road to recovery, seems to be a lot of bugs going around at the moment.

It’s been a very different year for us . Only one night spent in the caravan before a serious family emergency saw us rush back down from Scotland. So the cost per night was rather high (we didn’t bother getting a refund; sometimes you realise how little holidays and their costs matter ). Hopefully 2023 will be different.
Today seems a bit funny. We are going across the yard to our son’s for Christmas dinner, so I’ve nothing to do! All the presents are wrapped and posted/delivered. Farm accounts etc are up to date (after my accounting programme threw a bit of a wobbler yesterday and seemed to plunge us into the deepest darkest red). I dug down into the depths of the freezer and unearthed a chicken curry, which we’ve just enjoyed with a bottle of Three Choirs fizz.
Tomorrow my husband will be up as usual at 5 am, then after breakfast of toast and Rum Butter washed down with Buck’s Fizz, I’ll wheel in the trolley stacked with presents and relax. Until Evening milking.

Just been for the usual Christmas Eve walk along a little part of the C2C cycle path nearby , lovely day but quite cold.
I wish every single one of you a great Christmas and a fantastic touring year ahead.

Temperatures in Elk Park, in the US state of Montana, dropped to -50F (-45C), while the town of Hell, Michigan, has frozen over.
I sincerely hope all of those people who said that "Hell would have to freeze over first" are now going to keep their promise.🤣
Lovely morning so we went for a stroll. Enjoyed meeting up with a few people I've not seen for months and thanking them for their concern.
Millie, you did ask if I've heard anymore bumps in the night. Well I did last night. Same as first time, sounded like a toothbrush falling in the bathroom. Went back to sleep. Found a lop sided toothbrush in the bathroom this morning!😅
We've managed over 100 nights away this year, staying on just 1 (Wirral CP) club site. Didn't keep costing as we had 6 weeks abroad. Not been away much in last few weeks though!
Anyone forgotten to take food out of the freezer for tomorrow? Just a gentle reminder.

Can we wish everybody a peaceful Christmas and New Year from the sunny Lot in France.
Hope folks feeling under the weather will soon be on the road to recovery, we are now recovered from cold/flu bug thankfully.
Thanks for reminder WN have moved our Xmas dinner from freezer in our outside building and now in kitchen.
Have had two sitting outside sessions today lovely up to nearly 18C .
We have had about 60 nights away this year some in UK and the rest here, over to UK next September but with stops on the way to and from St Malo port will be away about 30 nights and hoping to get down near the Pyrenees next June for about 2 weeks and will have a couple of short breaks closer to home April and May time not sure where yet, July/August too hot and too many folk about so will be at home.

Just back from a walk along a very busy Perranporth beach - great to see so many families, couples, children and dogs enjoying the mild weather pre Christmas.
Don't know what others are paying now, but managed to fill up with diesel for 169.9 a litre at the local garage. Seems a sign of the times to regard that as cheap but it was 186.9 at our local Sainsburys when we left home last week.
Now got to pshyc myself up for kitchen duties tomorrow - how hard can it be? (Rhetorical question!)
Very best wishes to everyone for a great day tomorrow and a happy new year.

And just worked out that we've had (or will have had by the time we get home next week) 135 days away this year, a combination of 2 hotel breaks, 2 cottages, 3 overseas trips and the rest in Cornwall. Not a clue about the average cost, would probably be very scary if I ever got to work it out!

Hi Everyone, been a while
I'd just like to wish one and all a great festive period either home or away. We're at friends in Suffolk for a week for the festivities after touring in the van for a month. Nice to be in 4 walls for a change!!
Can anyone advise how to write in the story section without getting timed out please. We've had a great 3 months holidaying including an RV tour in America. I thought maybe it would good to tell about the differences between there and here, far far different from the usual "over there" stuff!
Cheers for now

Treated myself to a "lazy day" today. 😊 Made some soup this morning and then had a lovely walk through the park with the dog. This afternoon has been spent catching up with some TV.
First time for what seems like forever I haven't got to cook the Christmas Dinner, off to spend the day in MK with both son's and OH'S, and our Grand-daughter.
Neighbour opposite brought us a couple of "spare " Hello Fresh boxes this week so that's 6 meals catered for. 🙂🙂 She did say one of the menu cards was missing, but Google soon found the recipe. 🤣
As for nights away, I haven't kept a record, in the first half of the year we had quite a few nights away in the caravan and also had a week in a Windmill. After July it was only a couple of weekends away in between appointments, operation and treatments. Hoping next year will be better.
Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas and hope Santa 🎅 🧑🎄 brings everything you wished for.

Well done , CY. However you have had the advantage of being in a M/H and used non-EHU sites, whereas we have been on mains electric on all of the sites that we have stayed on. Most of the sites have been CLs, 44 visits of which 15 were new to us, but we have also stayed 6 times on Commercial sites and on 6 CC sites.

I didn't realise that was still happening when writing stories. What I do is write the story in something like MSWord and when I have finished I copy and paste into the story section. When you do that the formatting can look a bit odd but you usually have time to sort that out. Hopefully you will be adding photographs (unfortunately still limited to five) but don't forget they need to be resize so no larger than 500 kbs. Will look forward to seeing it.

So.......all presents finally wrapped, prawns defrosted, just the cocktail sauce to concoct......over to OH!
Nearly time for bed as we have an early, for us, start so we can be on Facetime to watch the little people opening presents.
Long chat this evening with DS, his MIL, who lives with them, has memory problems, so they are very worried about her. We did notice when we were visiting them recently that this was the case. They are worrying about whether/when to confiscate her car keys.
It is not easy, this growing old.

Oh dear me, hope you are not feeling too rough? My youngest son currently has COVID, he has managed to avoid it all the way through the pandemic and that including going into work most days.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and no long lasting effects Oneputt.
Had a good start to the day. No heating.😱 Fortunately something must have tripped the switch so quickly fixed. It's funny really as we have 2 separate circuits following the extension being built 20 years ago and the other circuit was fine. That has the cooker on it.
Anyway no harm done.
Hope one and all are still stress free. If not find the corkscrew quickly, unless of course, you are stressed because the corkscrew is missing.😅

Take care and hope not too serious Oneputt and other folk not feeling too good.
Had a lovely sunny day here up to 19.4C this afternoon had a glass of fizz earlier outside whilst lunch was cooking all very nice, lunch over except for a trifle type dessert which I made earlier so will have that later when lunch has settled down.
Enjoy the rest of the days folks.

It was Aga to the rescue this morning . We take turns with our son and family (who live across the yard) and I was told I’m no uncertain terms that I need do nothing.
But, best laid plans etc. A phone call from son about 11:00 to say they needed to use our Aga. Their modern electric cooker had tripped and fused all the kitchen . So a procession of dishes of cooked, partly cooked and uncooked food were fetched across the yard and somehow squashed into the Aga. I cleared the table of presents and wrapping paper and laid it with the crackers and decorations from across the yard.
It all turned out surprisingly well, especially the goose (chosen, prepped and cooked by grandson no. 2. Breasts removed and cooked separately with a Cherry and Chilli sauce.
Now I am really relaxing. Just a Gin and chocolates for supper I reckon.
Well done to a 74 year old solid fuel beast.

Oh dear, may it pass quickly and without too much hassle Oneputt. Best wishes anyway🙂

Was there a prize on offer (from Cornersteady I believe) for the last person or persons to hear Wham's Christmas offering? Well I have managed to miss it this year along with Slade although I have had the dubious pleasure of some of the other fare, although the Pogues is a favourite.
I nearly got banjaxed while holding on the line to BT and also on my rare sorties to the shops but I claim my prize.🏆
Managed to help Mrs WN cook a lovely meal. Hope everyone else's went well, and good to hear Goldies' Aga came to the rescue. Maybe next year Goldie for being spoilt.

We have a good day, despite it being a different Xmas for us. Easy meal prepared, home cooked from scratch though. Some nice presents, messages from family, and we are not slowly roasting in front of stove. Too dark and miserable to go for a bike ride, so we opted for plan B, take the MG for a blow out, only to find plan B thwarted by a flat battery, so plan C took over. Which basically was……..chill out👍 Just about to have our Xmas dinner…….😋
