Hi All,

We've booked 5 nights at Hawes Club site over the New Year period. We're in our Motorhome so won't want to drive off the site. Are there any larger food shops to restock food and drink in Hawes Village do you know? Also any tips re pubs etc to visit would be great. Thanks

If you Google this question you will find that there is a Spar, amongst other stores.

As mentioned there is a reasonable sized Spar mini supermarket. Although we prefer Eligah Allen’s, again a mini supermarket. These should supply all your needs, although the Butcher / Bakery JW Cockett is very good. As to pubs that do food, there are several but we favour the Crown. Best pint of Old Peculier around.

When we last visited in July 21 covid protocols were still in force and there was no unlimited cheese tasting☹️ Hopefully they have reinstated it.😀

A nice walk to the Green Dragon at Hardraw Force should help the cheese go down too. wink

Still not reinstated when we visited in March this year.

Maybe they realised how much the tastings were costing them. smile
