Removing mattress cover on fixed bed

We spilt coffee on the fixed island bed mattress in our Swift Challenger caravan, and although there is a zip to apparently remove the cover, it is impossible to undo. There is the same problem with the zip on the oblong where the pillows go. It went in for service yesterday and they tried without success - any ideas please?

Cut the zip out with scissors  - then either replace it yourself if you can, or take the mattress to an upholsterer who will .

Hold the zip flat and insert the tip of a non-retracting ball point pen between the sides of the zip.  The resulting gap can be expanded to the full length.   Just takes a couple of seconds - as shown in the luggage handling areas of airports worlywide.

A vax spotwash will get it out, a lot of these zips are an 'aid to manufacture'.
