Hi. We have had a few issues when towing our caravan and we are new to towing so very perplexed. We hitch up and connect electrics and tow caravan to destination, drove for one hour, turn car off, disconnect caravan and move it into place. Car is sat engine off for approx 20 mins then go to turn car back on to leave and nothing, complete flat battery. Garage have tested battery and it is completely fine and recharged without issue. However something is draining it while we are towing. Any help appreciated. We are new to all this but afraid we are not turning something important off on caravan before towing. Thanks.

You need the help of a good auto electrician they should be able to find the drain on your battery .

Wife had a similar issue on her Nissan Micra & it turned out to be the radio (that was turned off anyway because she never as the radio on ) that was draining the battery while standing a week or so.

We were advised to remove the fuse & it was sorted.

I think he charged £30 & it took less than an hour .
