Tow car for twin axle

There used to be a section on towcars, but gone?

we have a conqueror 645 towed with 2012 Sorento- great.

my wife now has mobility problems so need a lower load area floor for loading scooter and electric trike access. Can manage Sorento with ramps, but not getting any younger 🤪.

concious of kerb weight needed, looking at Ford Tourneo variants, but very confusing to identify 5 seat versions, with tailgate arrangement and space to load scooter and trike, also achieving kerb weight.

transit do versions but rather large. Always been a Ford person, but have looked at VW, with the extra premium £2k on equivalent vehicle.

any experiences or advice pleased to hear.

We don’t particularly wish to downsize caravan.

thanks

mark

It’s only a little further down the page from Caravans.

Personally, I’d leave this thread where it is and a mod will likely move it into towcars. There’s nothing worse for causing confusion than having duplicate threads running.

Have you considered the likes of the Citroen Dispatch, Toyota Proace and so on? I’ve no idea of their towing ability though.

Mercedes Vito? They seem to have a reasonable towing capacity & a fairly low floor.
