Motorhome with a caravan on club sites
Its probably been discussed before, I was having a chat with my other half tonight and we have several people we know who have bought camper vans to tow caravans, and going to club sites. Also in the past we have seen people with van based campers towing caravans and bringing them on club sites.
so the conversation went onto well if that is allowed then you should be able to tow with a tandem axle motorhome a twin axle caravan, and park on site, its just the same.
now is it fair to be able to take a caravan and a motorhome/caravan and park them on a pitch which is the same price as a car and caravan, when you now have twice the amount of area to use. Also is it within guidelines to have such vehicles on the same pitch as they are both habitable and not 5m apart. you could also have a 3m awning on the caravan.
what if you and your partner brought caravans and parked them next to each other on the same pitch, isn't that the same as a camper van/motorhome and a caravan.?

If a camper van tows a caravan, only one is permitted for habitation use as far as I recall.
If you had two huge units, it's unlikely they would fit on the same pitch and leave the required 6m fire gap between them and the unit on the next pitch.
Forget it, it's not going to happen. Are you having a boring evening?😂

This OP went from a believable opening position - a camper towing a caravan - into the realms of fantasy.
Mind you, having said that, I did see three motorhomes turn up in convoy at Chapel Lane early this year. One of them parked at the extreme left hand edge of a pitch, as you looked at it, and its driver indicated to one of the following vans to line up alongside, waving her arms in the style of a ground-crew marshal at an airport. Fortunately, her more experienced fellow pilot made known that the normal procedure was one pitch/one van and pitched up on an opposite space instead.
I don't know the exact rules about living in a camper and a caravan together, but commercial vans and caravans are often seen together, increasingly so I find, and I suppose this is not a lot different in terms of space used. I saw a family with one of those week-end style, leisure, VW vans and a caravan at Burford at the start of July. But to extend this combination into one of having two caravans on a pitch or a motor home and a caravan is not logical. It is most certainly not "the same".

My belief is that it’s all to do with the fire regulations. As long as only one of them has the gas bottles fitted, (move the bottles into the one that is to be inhabited, ie, the caravan), then the other, ie, the camper van, can only be used for extra sleeping, like a pup tent, so no cooking, electric, etc and if they both fit onto the pitch without any issues, then it should be ok? Generally, the camper van would normally only be the tow vehicle for the caravan.

We have seen a lot of day van/ caravan combo’s both on Club Sites and especially on CLs. So long as only one of the outfit is used for sleeping, then it’s seems Club is fine with this. Depends on size of course, but most awning pitches could take such a combo easily. Brilliant option really, dump the behemoth by day, but still have the warmth, comfort, cooking capabilities and emergency bed at all times. We have pondered on towing our small caravan behind our small MH occasionally.

If you are really interested or concerned about this why don't you raise it with head Office for a definitive answer?
Any other replies are likely to be speculation. Surely the Club can give factual answers to the questions you ask. I don't understand why you want views of members.
