Motorhome parking South Devon

South Hams District Council is running an experiment allowing overnight parking for self contained motorhomes in five of its car parks and may later extend it to others.  Details on their website. The price is £10 from 6 pm to 9 am., but there is no fresh water supply or waste water drains or sewage disposal. Of the five Totnes is proving the most popular and is just along the road from the Club site.  The others are Dartmouth, Ivybridge, Modbury and Kingsbridge.

    Yes I mentioned this when staying at Steamer Quay recently. You have to share with a variety of participants  some who can't read the safe distance rules but there are public toilets nearby which might be of use. Also a few boy racers in the evenings. There was also a caravan there ( been there a long time.) It's certainly a good spot by the Dart with Longmarsh country park adjoining and also the sailing/canoe club shares the area.. 

    Not my cup of tea but it's cheap.

    Now Cornwall too.  Falmouth councillors are reported to be looking to see if they can find a location for a motorhome aire in the town and have been in consultation with South Hams councillors in Devon. Falmouth residents unhappy about motorhomes ( homeless people as well as tourists)  on the sea front and in town streets
