Club Communications
I am not wishing to restart the debate on arrival times but more about how the Club communicates with its members. Today I received the following email regarding our stay at Black Horse Farm next month. I have no issue with the email except that given the recent problems with arrival times this is not mentioned. Wouldn't this be the ideal opportunity to emphasise/remind members about the 1.00pm arrival with the option to point out you should not arrive before that time as you risk being turned away? I appreciate there are links within the email that will take me to that information but why not just be upfront with it rather than provide links which many will not follow?

So many wasted opportunities…🙄

Black Horse Farm is different - it has ferry pitches and allows arrivals at all hours .

Who is the Head of Communication these days? Whoever it is is making a complete pigs ear of the job.
Mind you it's been dreadful for quite some time now so we've probably gone through more "HoCs" than Prime Ministers in the last 4 years.

The ones we’ve had a month before are the same. I also thought it strange but perhaps they think it a bit early. The one we received for Poolsbrook a week before had the info about arrival time:-
We received both for Poolsbrook, one a month before entitled a helpful reminder. The second a week before entitled Hurray your pitch awaits.
Arrival Date:
01-08-2022
Time:
Arrive after 13:00 and before 20:00
Please note: the time noted above is the earliest campsite arrival time. Please ensure you arrive at or after this time, in order to allow our site teams to prepare the site for new guests arriving, and also keep things as safe as possible for our departing guests.Departure Date:
04-08-2022
Depart by:
12:00
In most cases you’ll need to leave your pitch by 12 noon. If you need a bit more time, have a chat with our site staff and they’ll see what they can do.1 -
I've had a similar email to yourself David regarding our forthcoming trip to a club site.
I appreciate that you don't want to restart the arrival times debate but I've done what the email suggested and checked the 'before you travel' information and, as suggested, checked the page for the particular club site I'm going to. Believe it or not the stated earliest arrival time still shows at 1200 hrs.
The club has definitely failed on the opportunity to communicate its message in this particular area.

Actually…..🤔 The Club is providing everyone with a link to check things out about their specific Site before they travel. This includes the 1pm arrival times, and also any other relevant details such as noisy events, road/route disruption, any facility closure issues, etc…….
What isn’t happening, probably because everyone expects so little change on Club Sites, is folks with bookings are not opening up the link. So that’s the Club’s “ but we did tell you”
Here is the link included with each email

Sounds as though they are still giving out of date information Jill in your confirmation.
WN, if you want to know more about the Heads of Depts, click on “About Us” at bottom of page, click on “Committees” scroll past down all the Committee stuff, and hey presto, Heads of Depts. Comms might be Marketing, might be Sites, probably a mix of the two. 👍

Not if you are staying more than one night, it's the same as any other Club site. A overnight stay has to be paid for in advance and although arrival times are different it was certainly not 24/7 if I recall correctly from when I last booked a ferry pitch.

We won't be on a club site for a while so I can't put this to the test. We received a phone call prior to our last stay reminding us about the 1pm arrival. I do check the before you travel bit as it's useful and the link is on every site details page too.
I wonder if some e mails go into "trash?" However we have yet to receive communications other than an auto response to a request to receive them! I then got one email and since then nothing else. I presume the reminders probably arrive via a different route in the bookings section?
Anyway "we happy few" will remain in ignorant bliss?!
Ps We do get them from the C&Cc.

I get those emails too and always read the 'check before you travel' info. However, arrival times is never a problem in our case. If ever we get there before 3pm - even on a 'long holiday', it's something of a miracle!! When we go for a Sunday - Thursday jaunt, we tend not to leave home until around 1pm!!
