Cris registration
I bought a secondhand coachman vip in may 22 and sent off the registration document with the fee, I am still waiting for the return off the document in my name I tried phoning but they don’t answer the phone, and I have emailed, but no reply, it’s annoying as if I tried to sell it on the prospective buyer could pull out of the sale. ( not that I am selling).

We swapped vans just after Easter. We got acknowledgement by email of the change of registration yesterday, and they reckon we may have to wait up to another 3 weeks for the paper documentation. Presumably they will be blaming covid and staff shortages though they didn't actually say why they were so slow. So I wouldn't worry for a good while yet.

no i'm not worried because im happy with the van but if i wasn't and tried to sell then it would put people off. it makes a mockery of the system people say dvla are slow but at least you get log books within a couple of weeks.

i'm not worried as we are happy with the van, but if i tried to sell it then it could put buyers off,

I owned and sold 7 caravans over a long lifetime - none were CRIS registered and none of the buyers were “put off” .

With no proof of registration if the van is stolen the conversation with the police could be quite interesting I would imagine

Why would it be? Cris registration isn't a legal document and not mandatory.

i have tried numerous times phoning CRiS, and emails have bounced back, last thursday i thought i would ring one last time and surprising somebody they picked the phoned up, and i spoke to a lovely lady who was new in the job, anyway it turns out they had not received the old log book or cheque, but reassured me that if the cheque turns up it would be destroyed, as we redid the registration over the phone (good job i kept a copy of vin and previous owners) i have to allow 30 days for their checks and then they will issue a log book in my name. so fingers crossed.
