Returning to the Fold

Morning all!

My wife, Lizzie and I are returning to caravanning after a break of about 15 years.  We ordered a new car (Kuga) on August 1st 2021 and on the strength of that bought a Bailey Unicorn in October.  We FINALLY took delivery of the new car a week ago (11 1/2 months after order!) so now we can start touring.  The van has been in storage since October but they have a small site too, which we stayed on a couple of times.

Caravans have come a long way during our break.  Touch screen controls for the heating/hot water!  Who knew?? The van's manual is bigger than the new car's!

Lizzie suffers with MS so any hints for sites/CLs that are wheelchair friendly would be welcome.

We are looking forward to meeting some of you as we intend to get to as many rallies in the Devon and Cornwall centre area as we can.  In our previous caravanning life we went to many rallies with, what was then, the Sprite Owners Club and had a great time.

Happy days ahead!

Hello and welcome. I'm just heading off to continue gardening but couldn't leave without saying hello. Can't help much with sites off the top of my head but there is a poster- Finnberry or Finsberry. She has an assistance dog. Check out her posts via her profile. Can't tell you how to get there 🤐 She posted a story in the last couple of months

The towbar was dealer fitted. Blinking pricey though! I did used to fit my own towbars but wouldn't risk it now. 😳

I was surprised it was only £500 for the factory fitted one if we had bought the kuga in the show room they wanted nearly £600 for the dealer fitted one

It's me again, thought I'd see if I could add a link to Finnberrys, which I can HERE

As with many things on this site it isn't easy - it's not an intuitive user friendly one, but most of us have sussed things out, so ask.

Rereading Finnberrys posts, which are good, I realise the areas she's not local to you but I'm sure will inspire you.

Good luck and do come back and tell us of your adventures.
