I would bear in mind Len that what gets reported on here and typical daily life on a club site can be very very different.  Sure there are some complete idiots on club sites but at the moment they are spread thinly enough to make the average stay very enjoyable. I have met plenty of great people on club sites......

If you are looking for a large field where, even if there are others staying then try Furnace Farm CL in Furnace, Machynlleth on the West Coast of Wales. Not exactly at the seaside but close by. The field is very large. Take 2 electric cables. They may come in handy.

Of course by their very nature seaside CLs and sites tend to be busy.

Wherever you go I hope you find some peace. We've had the odd disturbance but that's expected in 30+ years of caravanning. The vast majority were fine and most people polite. We do tend to find CL users slightly more friendly than CAMC users. That's not a slight on those that use CAMC sites just our own observations.

Thank you for the info, it's good to know not everywhere is so busy. I must say i didn't  think wanting somewhere quiet to spend a couple of weeks would be so difficult. I'm not a recluse or anything, the  family and I always preferred cls because there was a  greater sense of freedom, but in another way a greater sense of community.  The events leading up to this post did happen in the exact way described but perhaps gave the impression that I am intolerant of others. It's one thing to belong to a club site like this but if the ethos and sense of community isn't passed forward how will be people know how to behave toward each other?

In all honesty & joking aside LW a lot of us members are of a different generation twofold so what we expect is back in the 1980’s. This is a new world, it’s up to us to adapt not everyone else to stop moving forward🤷🏻‍♂️. I hold doors open for male & females yet it’s rare anyone below 40 thanks me. I don’t expect them to as I do it for me too it’s my way. It’s the 21st century we evolve.

Things do move on. I see change every day. I am currently and what seems continuously dealing with the problems Brexit has caused for my family and business.  Just before covid I lost my wife and closest friend of 42 years she used to do all the site arrangements and bookings, and if I'm honest most of the communicating with people while we were out and about.  I am not looking for sympathy just trying to explain why it might look like I live in bubble. cool
