Our first caravan experience Horsley 17-19 May 2022

We’ve just returned from our first ever caravan adventure. Managed to find a pitch I didn’t have reverse into😀😀😀. Unhooked the tow hitch after a bit of a fight, levelled the van, plugged in the electric, turned everything thing on.  Problem 1. the fridge won’t stop bleeping 2. water pump not working everything else works but fridge still bleeping. Caravaners are so helpful 😀😀. The guy on the opposite pitch could tell from the profanities that things were not going well. He came over checked a few things we even tried his pump in water barrel still no water, more profanities. He suggested calling the dealer (Reading Caravans). We’d only had the van a week. It was 4pm so didn’t hold up much hope. I was wrong. The guy I spoke to Andy could not of been more helpful, unfortunately we couldn’t fix the problem. He took details of the site we were on (Horsley C&CC) promising to get an engineer to us early the next morning (oh really). True to his word 8.30 the following morning here comes the engineer 😀😀😀.  Fixed the fault in 5 minutes new 5amp fuse everything now working. Even the fridge stopped bleeping, we weren’t closing the door properly. I felt such a fool. Two newbie’s mistakes give the fridge door a good kick and carry spare fuse’s. We’ve just had a great couple of days away and can’t wait to do it all again. 😀😀😀

One of the things I generally really like about the camping community is how helpful people are. Glad you got sorted. Hopefully the next trip will be much easier.

Yes we were exactly the same on our first time out. It does  get easier and you will get into a routine. Good luck.
