Dockray Meadow site...We are thinking of going there shortly but there seems to be something amiss with the site data on the club's website pages. It lists the site having 41 pitches of which 12 are hardstanding, however looking at the photos of the site there appears to be a lot more than 12 H/S pitches. The pricing lists only refers to H/S awning and non-awning pitches while below under pitch type  there are only non-awning pitches ( both H/S & grass, both with EHU) ticked as being available on site. However on the booking page both awning and non-awning pitches show availability both of which are Hardstanding, with no mention of grass pitches.undecided

Perhaps micky, or some othrer member who has been there recently, could clear up the station for me.

It might be that seasonal pitches are in use there Nellie?

Well we'll find out soon enough, as we are heading there on Thursday.

Thanks for the suggestion brue, but I can't see there being about 30 grass pitches used as seasonals.

Fozzie, I will have a look at that.

Now at DM and can confirm that all pitches are Hardstanding, both awning and non-awning ones, regardless of what it says on the website. Unusually some are sideways on because of lack of space.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

I am one of those who like the feel of grass between the toes, guess you will never see me on this site!

    Thanks for the heads up.

As one who like the feel of grass between the toes I doubt that you will ever see me at this sight - or indeed any other that is HS only

Yes, like others suggested, quite a few seasonal pitches there. I quiet like the layout and pitching which is a little random compared to others but I totally see the reasoning behind this.

Sounds a bit like Marazion Nellie. That has some sideways pitches as well. If the Club can squeeze another pitch in, they will😉

Dockray Meadow is a great site but it's incredibly tight to get into some pitches, especially when the site is full, as invariably those difficult to access ones are often the only pitches left.

Certainly not the reason at DM, TDA. In fact the pitch We were on could quiet easily have had a pitch inserted either side of us. More to do with the occupancy I suspect. Really good site for visiting the western fells and the Cumbrian coast but Keswick is not too far away (25mins) for a visit.

Yes after all even sideways there has to be 6m between adjacent walls of a caravan/MH so as you say it means there is a lot of space between pitches.

Have only been there a few times and even that must be more than ten years ago due to being 'out of the lakes' a bit for us and longer to travel to from home, but I remember thinking it was a lovely site and excellent for visiting the area southward and westwards .

Some, all on H/S, some sideways others as normal, not sure of how many so will enquire tomorrow, micky.

Edit. Forgot that you were there earlier this month so know the set up. Only just over half full tonight including the seasonal pitches.

Still no explanation from HO why the web site is so out of kilter with the actual set-up.
