Grey Water Disposal

I notice an advert for THIS in the club magazine. It certainly looks easier than emptying a waste carrier all the time. Anyone used one? Are they any good? I assume an advert in the magazine means their use is acceptable on club sites or am I wrong?

I wouldn't assume that, lots of stuff advertised in there that isn't allowed.

It's look like a good idea, I hope the club says if it is allowed, or states one way or the other and if just filtered water comes out then I can't see why not?

Before I buy though I'd like some testing done in a caravan/MH magazine to see if it actually works and/or how much waste waster could it cope with?

How the advert got past the powers that be who accept them?

As a very similar system has been rejected for club site use in the past it is not new

Another dash for cash that this club seems going all out for at this time to the detriment of members and site staff

I think Site Rule 8 answers the question.

And how many actually read the rules they have signed up for?

As can be noted with some of the comments on  CT and other forums

    Clearly, not many.

Edit: To be fair, the site rules don’t seem to be given great prominence anywhere.🤷🏻‍♂️

I've just noted the waste water container of someone on this site .... the cap is just sat on top of the container. I'm sure he/she has just forgot to refit it .... 🙄

The cap that should be preventing the grey water from pouring onto the ground 😉

I don't get involved in enforcing site rules 😉

That is the trouble with modern society no one wants to get involved, but are very vocal otherwise

As can be seen in many site reviews

My waste master has 3 caps, 1 has to be left off to allow the waste pipe to go into the container

This gadget seems to filter out the lumps - to presumably be disposed of somewhere else. But the water and other liquids such as soap, sweat, spitle, grease laden washing-up liquid, old tea and coffee, etc goes onto the ground on the pitch. Sounds quite disgusting. Especially for the next occupant.

It also depends if they’re placed in such a way to encourage folk to read them.👍🏻

My waste water container does not have a cap. Am I the only person to use a bucket?

As regards where to chuck it, I ask at reception when I check in. I've found most continental sites and a lot of CL's say in the bushes, so if it's not greasy that is where it goes. I think it goes without question C&MC sites and most commercial it is at a designated point.

Certainly NOT Colin !!  At Altnahara its easier to use a bucket 'cos they hold less than a  normal waste container and weight is important since one has a slope to climb to the waste and fresh water points !wink

Unless this has the coarsest of filters - and therefore be of little practical use - I can't see it working without causing the water to back up in the drainage pipes.

Neighbouring van left waste tank with valve open just sufficient to dribble drain overnight onto already soft ground. What he hadn’t figured was the slight incline so all the waste water ran to his front n/s wheel and soaked in there. Result was a visit from Green Flag to tow bogged vehicle off grass pitch! Serve him right really as the pitch had to be repaired and put out of use for a day or so. Told warden he’d forgotten that the valve was slightly open.,.yeh right.

I am not sure if it has always been there - but no one has mentioned it. If you go to the ad now you see this banner come up. So definitely not allowed on club sites.

Cracking the waste cap is an excellent filter and I assumed everybody did it?  Obviously I’ve been spending too much time on CLs and overseas.

The Dutch seem to put a bucket under the waste pipe and I can’t ever recall seeing buckets being emptied.

That banner is not very helpful, as the majority of cc sites are either leased or managed not owned by  this clubsurprised
