Bailey D4-2 bed makeup
We have just bought a one year old Discovery D4-2 as this is the only (small 2 berth) van that would allow us to load electric bikes into / onto. Generally OK, but the bed make up for sleeping lengthways (why climb over someone to get to the loo in the night when you can sleep lengthways?) seems not to have been considered at the design stage. Apart from making up / buying some infills blocks for one side where the backrest cushions are too short, how has anyone else resolved this problem?

In most caravans to make the 2 single into a double results in your having to sleep width wise. Reading your post, you seem to want to know if it is possible to use the double bed length wise; I don't think that it is. Is it really a bind 'climbing' over to go to the wc at night; we have done it for years without a problem. Do you have that smart wrap round air awning, it looks smart?

It's not a problem for the person climbing over, but tends to wake the other, which is why we prefer to sleep lengthways.
And yes, we got a monstrous awning with it. Completely fills the car boot. Its huge. Its heavy. But the people we bought this all from put it up solo. Haven't tried it yet. We have a small, so called porch awning we will use most of the time.
