The site is a couple of miles away from Hebden Bridge but its well worth a visit. In the other direction is Halifax. If you are interested in the Bronte sisters then the museum the town of Haworth is worth a visit.

Make use of the bus service as parking at Hebden Bridge itself can be very busy. We enjoyed our short stay there and there are nice walks around Hebden Bridge as well as seeing the town.

Heptonstall Church ruins, (Sylvia Plath’s Grave) Hardcastle Crags, the extensive canal network in the town, all are interesting. It’s a great place just to people watch as well, grab a sandwich, find a bench and just watch as the World walks by. It’s sort of Glastonbury, combined with Totnes, given a Yorkshire makeover. Some good independent shops, although expect the “HB price effect” . Sowerby Bridge is not far either, you can do day trips on the canals from there. If you fancy an unusual meal, The Temujin is good, choose your ingredients and it’s all flash cooked for you! https://temujinrestaurant.co.uk/

    Have a good time.

It’s a while since we were in Heptonstall but I remember getting a leaflet from somewhere which described an interesting heritage trail round the village. It was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

If you decide to visit Halifax  the Piecehall is worth visiting.

I’ve not stayed at the site but dragged my daughter’s caravan there for her a few years ago and thought the site looked lovely. I believe the site is actually in Mytholmroyd.
