As well as a a change in prices there has also been a change in site names.

All sites now have the added word of "Campsite" after their title

    🤣🤣🤣

It’ll be this year’s attempt at inclusivity. Next thing you know there will be a tent on the pitch next door….

    Cue…….”Dear Caravan Club………”

    😇

I don’t care what they call them , as long as there is a pitch for my motorhome that’s good enough for me

Most of our early holidays were spent on sites that accepted both, always good fun, lots more folks outdoors, so it was a lot friendlier. We tented ourselves for many years. Not so frequent in last decade. We passed on our fantastic Vango tent last year to a niece and her family.

There’s no reason this Club couldn’t integrate tents onto main pitches if it wanted to, other than the likely backlash from some Members.

    Oxford Dictionary of a campsite:-

"a place where people on holiday can put up their tents, park their caravan, etc., often with toilets, water, etc."

So by definition does a C&MC campsite have to allow camping with a tent?

The CAMC have upped their game a bit with more sites offering tent pitches although some aren't in very good spots. LINK

edit I'll re-phrase that... some of the pitches aren't in good spots

We have used tent pitches on some Club Sites in the past brue. Usually a long walk to the loo block is our over riding memory. Certainly the ones at Lower Wensleydale are, as were Wincanton. Sadly, we have seen the grassed areas used by selfish dog walkers too idle to go far as well. Would you believe at Tredegar Park, which is surrounded by parklands. ☹️ Good job I’m not a Warden, they would have been thrown out and off site pronto. Same at Durham Grange, which actually has a small designated dog walk area.
