it's the lack of MH parking that annoys many, incl those who camp at sites but would just like to visit the surrounding area while they can.
Oh so very true and it is certainly one of the motivations for prefering to tour "over there". However I think the message is getting out there and we are seeing improvements, so many in fact it is getting difficult to keep track of them all.

Don’t disagree with any of that. The local family that own & operate the main car park in my village (Willow Car Park) have been offering just that for years. Day parking or overnight at about £8 last time I looked. It works and nobody, local or visitor, has a problem with it. MHs spend a couple of days there or just do an overnight on News Year Eve etc. It proves it doesn’t always have to be height barriers and overnight bans. It’s a big space but still inadequate in high season.

And are there sewage disposal facilities, fresh water supply, waste water drains, and garbage bins for overnighting in your average car park?

Generally no, but I don’t think folks should expect them. If we use this type of facility in the UK it might be for 2 or 3 days max then a night at a CL/ CS or similar to dispose of waste etc. Not ideal, but necessary here.

As been said so many times (even mentioned in this thread I think?), what happens abroad really has no bearing or relevance to here in the UK, for reasons that have been made many times that you must know them by now?

Bit dismissive… there’s no reason I can see why something similar can’t be replicated here given goodwill, a positive attitude and ambition. Perhaps you can enlighten us on behalf of the naysayers?

Good example where the right mindset could make a positive contribution for all concerned. It’s just some stupid rule that was probably introduced years ago and nobody has ever challenged since. I know the car park concerned (right after bridge on the left) and it’s well used by HGV drivers. However, it’s rarely full and as you say, conveniently located for all that Upton-upon-Severn has to offer. The marina there could offer something similar. Local authorities have too many members with closed minds who are out of touch and instinctively say no to change.

No, it's all been said before many times and sometimes by you if I recall correctly (on this very thread was it when you talked of a fundamental problem?) and it's my view on what happens abroad and over here.
But if you want Bill perhaps you could enlighten us as to how it could happen and what goodwill, positive attitude... you mean? Could be useful?

Ok what about:
Irrespective of whatever clever and innovative schemes are created, there is a fundamental problem here - population density. What works in, say France, (118 per sq km) isn’t necessarily going to work in the UK (272 per sq km) You on page 4.
And I could say the same about your post when I asked you about what goodwill, positive attitude would be needed? You talk about the right mindset but haven't offered anything substantive? Again might help?

That’s the one. I’m neither for nor against what they do in Spain but it does show there are two sides to the story and it’s not all free and easy pitch where you like. In fact they seem to have similar issues to those we see reported in the UK.

Indeed and both are relevant. It has to be better to provided facilities to help stop the mess alegedly created by free loaders. If facilities are offered, especially free, there should be no reason or justification to "wild camp" There will always be a few that will still attempt it but if nothing else I see it as reducing the numbers who will do so and I suspect with the increased regulation this is the motivation for the provision in Spain. This is not the first area there to do this.

Attitude could be the deciding factor for sure👍🏻. If Moho ownership is going thru the roof in popularity that suggests it’s a revenue source to be tapped, yet not many are attempting to tap that stream🤷🏻♂️, if someone could solve that conundrum then it could prove fruitful for all. It can’t be just bad press although I have read that Spain & Portugal are no longer OK with the whole wild camping gig due to bad attitudes by some. Moho folk need to lift their game & change long held negative attitudes. The new laws prove that folk have no stomach for these people☹️

Why are Town councils so recalcitrant re Moho folk, if it’s a good revenue stream I just don’t understand it. Brits are no different than other nations we have entrepreneurs who are up for taking & making money. Something is off, way off for what seems a money making scheme to be so shunned. Either the Moho folk are Hells Angels on more than 2 wheels or you are classed as travellers to them or there actually is no money in it at all🙁

As I've said before I think it's that small minority of MHers that get all the negative headlines on various papers? It is then this bad press that people either in local councils or their residents remember when making decisions?
