Must be your good looks compared to mine, TW! wink

Apathy set in, but perhaps I should. There always seemed too many other more important things to do. Can't be doing with the flannel I expect to get.

Why does it need date of birth for adult party members. Are they thinking of introducing an age related discount?

Or a ‘frequent flyer’ type idea-you book 10 sites you get 10% off your 11th booking.  Building up to the 100th one in a given season then the 101st is free. Nice little earner for C&MC & a freebie for the C&MC member👍🏻

As I have highlighted before, it was the inclusion of non electric economy hardstanding pitches in the new system which caught my eye.

The new system seems very complicated, in the past I have gone to a site for 10 days and and then had two grandchildren staying with me for two night each, so I would have 10 names but only ever have 4 people in the caravan at a time. What happens if you change guests part way through or a guest who only stays for part of the trip? I have never been asked for the names of guests on a commercial site, it all looks like a bit of an overkill to me probably because it’s bases on a foreign travel booking system.

Thank you WN. I've now had a reply from Rowena and the query is going forward to the Digital Manager. Others like me who can't update their communications preferences on their profiles will await more information.

I haven't checked yet but I presume updates will also be in News and Events or similar?

Bru the email news letters mostly provide links to the Clubs web site where the information resides. So as long as you look for it there you should not miss it. That for the new booking system seems to be on links from the FAQs.

But they've missed out a standard electric hardstanding with awning.

Strange that it's not on this web site itself. Unless I've missed something.

If you’ve missed it so have I. The obvious place would be somewhere within news and events but if it’s there it’s well hidden.

From the URL it looks like a page created just for the new booking experience. Without the URL Don't know how you woud find it from the menus.

Thanks all. The links work but they're not coming from the main web site on here, they appear to have been sent out as e mails. Unfortunately there appears to be a fault on the system for those of us who would like to opt in for e mails etc, we can't alter our profile options. CAMC are now aware of the problem.

I don’t think it’s in the menus above, as you say a dedicated link. The email link is the same one as in DK’s opening post.

At some point hopefully, before it goes live, it would be good to see and read the full terms and conditions for booking, particularly with reference to what Members will have to do if the have to cancel within the 21 day period. I apologise if they are there and I have missed them, or it must just be that each case will be considered on an individual basis?

I appreciate that the full details are not yet available but it would seem that full refunds with a 21 day notice defeats the whole object of reducing speculative booking. It would encourage a mad scramble in the intervening period as members search for availability due to cancellations. The C&CC operate a non refundable deposit system which appears to work well. A refundable deposit system, in my opinion, is not the answer.

I suppose the truth is we will have to wait and see? I thought the C&CC did refund deposits but only up to 31 days before arrival on site? If I am right the CMC version is a bit more generous at 21 days. Whether you are right might depend on how many people, who had previously allegedly booked speculatively, will be put off by having to pay a deposit many months before the 21 days limit kicks in? If its just a single site then probably not but if it multiple sites, that could add up.

Yes C&Cc will refund deposits subject to their T&Cs. So much the same is planned for CAMC with a more generous cut off time (I presume this can easily be adjusted if needed!)

A number of posts hold up the c&cc club as an example of how the cmc club could be improved, I have rejoined the c&cc club this year after a few years absence I'm afraid it still seems to me to be way behind this club in the ease of the booking system, being able to see at a glance pitch availability by the week, month, year, makes booking so easy, with this club but with the c&cc club it seems to me you have to go through the complete steps of booking a site and pitch before you know if ones available so how would you know if there are signs of speculative booking, I can see you could say that about this club because its so easy to see pitches being booked and then becoming available god forbid that this club follows the example of the c&cc in anything.

Try the C&CC Availability page where you put in the dates and area wanted. smile

OH does our bookings with CCC, she cannot get it to work either.

She just went to their website and a page came up ... check availability and book.....but it will not do anything unless she enters dates.  I think there must be a different page she should be on, but she cannot find it.

Can you post  a link to the  correct page?

You start off on the >Late Availablity< page, quite why it is called that I don't know because you can check availabilty some way into the future. Enter the region you are interested in and your outfit details and search. From the list of sites select one of interest by clicking on "book this site"and a menu comes up regarding your choiice of pitch types. Select what you require and a calender will appear, scroll the calendar to check availabilty for the dates your want.

You might also find the >FAQs< on the New web site useful.
