Hi

Im looking at getting an electric bbq to use outside when away in the caravan and wondered if anyone has one of these or similar?

Its rated at 2400 watts which is high but seems like it would be ok to use on most UK sites but I’m new to this so…

I’m thinking electric rather than gas (I have a large gas one at home so I’m not comparing the cooking taste etc) simply because of ease of use and also I’m paying for the on-site electric anyway.

Hi Welcome to the club. We had friends who have used the same bbq you mentioned and had no issues with it even used it over here in France  and only 10amp perhaps theirs was a low power but had no problems with it and when we havbe stayed with them coped with enough food for 4 people.

I have a OH who does not like bbq's so we have changed to a different way to cook food when on site in the summer again electric, again we have a fairly large george foreman grill  and have not used it for about 2 years so it will have to go takes up room in a large cupboard.

    Good luck with your choice.

I’m sure this has bern discussed before. You may find something in the Parts & Accessories section.

We had a GF grill and used it OK on EHU but took the precaution of turning off other appliances including the water heater in the van. It was a messy performance though with fat channels and grill plates to be cleaned.

We have an electric griddle as well as a Weber gas BBQ.  The griddle is perfect for our once-a-week treat of a cooked breakfast and we tend to favour it for smelly things like trout etc - to save stinking the van out!.  I thinks it's 1800w and works perfectly on all the sites we have been on, plus it's very easy to clean. It was relatively cheap (about £24), and doesn't take up much room in a locker.  Only downside is that the non-stick doesn't last that long and we end up changing it every couple of years or so.
