Second Deposit Survey
There is news on FB from people who have had an email to take part in a second survey on the subject of deposits. I can't find anything on this web site.
Has anyone on here received the survey?

Nope.

There can be surveys, maybe some via the club? who knows. The thing is there's no going back now.

I probably saw the same post as Harry but I haven't had a survey to complete. I wonder if the person concerned had just stayed a Club site and was sent a survey as a result of that stay? Some of the surveys I have had in the past, whilst mainly dealing with my recent stay, have covered other subjects.

Could someone please post a link to the CAMC Facebook page. I searched for it, found it, but it only has posts from the club about Christmas Advent prizes!

Club has its own FB page, but I think there is a separate “apply to join in” Members group who left CT a long time ago now, preferring to post via FB. A lot of past CT folk migrated over to FB. From what I can recall, it has fairly defined criteria in terms of what can be posted and talked about. I think anyone can join in though, as long as they stick to the guidance.

We don't do Face-ache. I responded to the survey yesterday in response to the club's email.
The questions included some statements about the changes which I didn't know until then.
They didn't mention what amount the deposits will be.
Apparently the default position will be payment of the balance the day before arrival, however members may opt out of that.
The deadline for forfeiting the deposit if you don't cancel will be 21 days.
Pitch surface will be bookable for £1 extra.

It’s probably just a bog standard, randomly selected survey that you sometimes get after staying on a Site, rather than anything specifically around deposits. I think we did two last year, slightly different, but neither were totally based around thoughts on deposits. It’s probably been tweaked now to take into account latest developments.

"The deadline for forfeiting the deposit if you don't cancel will be 21 days.
Pitch surface will be bookable for £1 extra".
Two interesting questions. The word forfeiting sounds harsh and very ominous. Will there be no chance of transferring it or sympathetic reasons for a refund.
As for pitch surface, was it not mentioned that grass would be £1 cheaper. The word 'extra' sounds as they will charge more for hard standing. So it will be an increase and not a decrease.

Hats just someone’s interpretation, I would go back to the main thread about the changes and get the Club’s definitive update, 😁 saves misunderstandings.

Harry, Did you honestly think that the club would do such a thing as give such a huge discount for booking a grass pitch? To me at least it was always going to be an increase for a H/S pitch, I'm just surprised that it is only £1 difference.

I have had 4 emails from the Club in December and not one asked me to fill in a survey?

It's certainly a very controlled environment!!!

The survey I received was an email titled "How are things going for you?"
It invited me to complete a survey.
Amongst the questions were:
"When making UK Campsite bookings, are you likely to remain opted in to automated balance payments the night before arrival?"
"We're also introducing pre-bookable standard pitch surface type (i.e. the ability to pre-book grass or hard standing standard pitches, rather than choose on arrival on site, like now. This will be coupled with a £1 price differential between grass and hard standing pitches."
" ....introduce a deposit system (fully refundable if cancellation is at least 21 days pre-arrival)."

I omitted to say that the email also confirmed the deposit will be 25%.

Thanks obberknockle. Must be a new one, mind we haven’t been on a Club Site since September, so pre date latest announcement.
Not tempted to join Facebook group BB? I doubt they would have me🤣🤣

Often the way with self appointed moderating. Even our local neighbourhood Facebook Page can have its moments. Often new threads don't appear until they have been vetted. When Rowena posted the cancellation figures on here I thought I would share it with the group we are talking about but they insisted that I mention the source. I didn't initially because I wasn't sure they would like Club Together mentioned on their group. The groups I find most useful are those dedicated to specific purposes. So something like the Bailey Motorhome Owners group is very informative as there is quite a knowledge base. The same is probably true of most groups dealing with a particular brand of caravan or motorhome.

As others, we are members of our own members' 'branded' forum...plenty of great technical and range/model advice....also info re the events diary going forward.
there are also two (Carthago and Malibu) manufacturers FB pages with lots of Advent style prizes....I've even won one this year...a-may-zing (it's usually the OH).

Earlier NTH made comment between H/S and grass pitches and the price of a pitch.
I've just looked at the Late Availability section of club sites and there is a section for Pitch Type. It defaults at All Touring Pitches. Wait for it!
There are 16 different types of pitch. The men that sit around the table in the site pricing department will have field day.

I have just filled in a survey for my latest Club site visit. Pretty bulk standard the same as the others I have had throughout the year. No mention of anything remotely connected to the booking changes so unless the Club is prepared to confirm the survey referred to on the FB pages is the real deal, I thing the FB thing is a wind up.
