Invertor or diesel heater

Hi planning on doing quite a lot of off grid touring in our motorhome and I,m looking for advice on whether I should go for a 12v invertor or a diesel heater,any help would be appreciated.

    Running a 230v heater of any use though an invertor off batteries will not last very long, possibly 10's on minutes, not hours.

    I'd have though gas would be the obvious choice.

    Diesel can be noisy. As you’re already set up to run on gas, why go for anything else?
