Hi

i have recently purchased a 2008 Swift Challenger 560 and has the attached gas fitting.

Am i able to cut off the "screw " in part and fix to a normal Calor Gas regulator or do i need a "special" regulator and if so where can i purchase ?

thanks in advance and any help will be appreciated

The fitting in your picture is for a  propane gas cylinder you may have a regulator on the bulkhead the other end of the pipe?

You may be thinking of a  7kg butane gas cylinder which has a clip on regulator but most of us use propane as it will still work at lower temps than butane

May I suggest that if you are going to use any type of gas you change the whole pipe as it may be old and need replacing

Any caravan dealer should stock regulator of both types of gas

The thread for propane and butane on the connector should be right or left handed depending on the gas used

There will be a "best before" date printed on the gas hose, they are usually  changed every 5 years.

Bulkhead mounted regulators were in use in 2008, we have a 2008 Swift Group van, so you should have one.
