Bailey Adamo 69-4
Hi, complete newbie novice to Motorhomes so need some help!
We have just taken delivery of a lovely new Bailey Adamo 69-4 and brought it home to get it ready for our first trip.
I connected the electricity cable to the house mains using an adaptor bought at the dealer, however I think the motorhome is till using the batteries? How do I tell if the electrical connection is working and the batteries are not being drained?
Also, can the heating in the Adamo work only on electric and would the boiler need to have water to do so?

Hi Funkee, sorry no-one has replied sooner.
You ask: How do I tell if the electical connection is working and the batteries are not being drained? Look at page 88 of your handbook. This refers to the Seattle Control panel which allows you to switch on the water pump, lights & awning light. When you are hooked up an icon shows on the panel. Also you can use the up down buttons to check your leisure battery charge level. However, I've found the charging level as displayed is quite inaccurate so I always use a multi meter to double check my leisure batteries when in storage.
The Seattle panel also has an alarm that sounds if your leisure battery charge drops below a certain level.
It might be worth you downloading the handbook onto a tablet, then you can use a word search to search through the handbook, rather than thumbing through a hard copy.

I assume the Adamo has the Truma Combi boiler. If so you can run the heating without water in the tank. On the CP control panel it is the little motorhome symbol for heat. You also need to skip along to the gas bottle symbol to select fuel source, just scroll through and select either electric 2 or electric 1 and then go back to the motorhome symbol and turn knob to desired temperature. Before starting with the heating make sure you have the 12v master switch on.

I have raised this with Admin. Unfortunately the Mods can't do it although I haven't established a reason for that which might be because it would allow us to go into the membership system which naturally we are not allowed to do. If we could approve them no one would probably have to wait more than a day to be approved.

Funkee, I think the above answers should sort out your questions but I have to ask what sort of handover you had with your new Adamo? Did the dealer not cover mains and battery operation for a new motorhomer? I presume from your questions that this wasn't demonstrated if so it sounds like a poor handover.

When we first changed to a motorhome we had a very long and detailed handover. The only trouble was that once we were on our own it can take quite a lot of remembering. Our new motorhome, in 2019, had the CP control panel for the first time and it took me a while to understand how it all worked. So I imagine the OP could have the same issue?

It's not only the GDPR regs. it's about information security. Who needs to know what etc. We did that training this last spring, it was a real eye opener.
The Adamo is on a transit base, is that an auto box? how many speeds?

JK, just by chance I picked up the Bailey M/H brochure today. The Adamo has a Ford 2.0 ltr 160bhp engine with an automatic gearbox, but it does not state the number of gears.
