The Highland Council has approved further improvements and spend on motorcaravan facilities along with other tourism facilities.

I could be tempted to tour there next year?

Under much pressure from locals on and near the problems being caused by the NC 500 users blocking laybys and passing places and the growth of illegal "wild camping"which is meant for tent campers

Let's just hope that the usual tourist thing doesn't happen of huge exposure leading to the character of the place being changed or more often, wrecked. Hopefully the character of both the locals, the landscape and the climate will stand up to that.

We'll not forget how, away from the NC500 out on the Island of Uist, we talked with a man on his croft who didn't meet many from the outside world, but said he was glad he enjoyed speaking with us because he was firmly of the impression that people from England and abroad in general were hooligans, and we were not so.  I hope there are still plenty of places where he and his like can thrive.

I see it as a positive move.......public toilets and parking provision benefit all tourists.  In fact public toilets are more essential for those of us travelling without MHs.

What I think is good is that they have done their research and based their actions on this research. So many local authorities just don't apply the same thought processes to manage an issue rather than ban it. I think similar is being considered in Wales but not on the same scale.
