PVC or coachbuilt?

It depends if one wants half the story or something more complete?

Or if one just wants a happy ending. Have a good evening👍🏻

I must admit that does make me a little twitchy. It's a good incentive not to tailgate construction lorries though.

No more so that deciding on the number of axles, layout, berths etc with a caravan and then you need to consider towcars.....🙂
As with all things, there are decisions to be made and choices to be had. I think that's a good thing.

I think we will agree to disagree there Tinman, my criteria for a Towcar has far less I can assure you and I have had many ,being a SalesRep/Regional Manager. I was basing my conclusion Motorhomes/Campervans on what was written by previous posters, not my knowledge of which I have non.

There's nothing to disagree about at all. I was merely pointing out it's not only MH variations that require decisions to be made.

I am inclined to agree. During the 30 years we owned a caravan it was a relatively easy decision on what to buy next and of course as the years roll on the more experience you gain. We started with our first motorhome 9 years ago and even if unintentionally we decided on a model which more or less replicated what we had in the caravan. The choice of motorhomes is massive, not only do you have a lot of UK manufacturers but masses of European makers selling in the UK which is totally different to the caravan industry. Obviously you can narrow down the choice by deciding on a few key requirements but you are still likely to have a big choice available to you. Its a shame that we have not had the big main caravan/motorhome shows over the last couple of years as that is where you can see almost everything in one place as dizzying as that might be. Best is to think long and hard and think again

Certainly agree about the big shows, it’s really the only way to compare and contrast unless you want to put some big miles in visiting individual dealers. Hopefully NEC will happen as planned in February but a lot can go wrong by then🤞. Doesn’t look like the CMC are planning a temporary site this year? Also, I notice the organisers have dropped the senior price concession 🙁

B B ....Agree with that entirely, not a right way or wrong way just the way that suits your chosen way of recreation. We holidayed abroad for a month a year at least, always using good Hotels and car hire. If I decided to spend more time abroad I would certainly change to a Motorhome as I love to see as much as I can and would not use a basepoint.

We bought a 6m Adria Compact 6 years ago. We had been looking at PVCs, but this coachbiilt gave more space in the same size van. It is a transverse bed model with a large storage garage under the bed.
It is plenty of space for longer tours, easy to park and being under 3050kg unladen has no speed limit restrictions in UK or Europe.
Well pleased with it.

As you say David a show would be great to see as many fans as possible. We have managed to view a few in the last week or two and now our view seems to be moving towards a small coachbuilt simply because it feels more spacious in the front dinette. We would like to see a few more (eg and Adria twin) before making a decision. Might have to wait till after Christmas now but we’ll see.
