Touring Scotland coast using Cl sites

Anybody have a planned itinerary for touring Scotlands coast using Cl sites. Starting Edinburgh via John o Groats and down the west coast .

    It depends a lot on the time of the year you intend to go, how far in advance you intend booking your sites, and how far you are willing to travel between sites. I guess it could be done, but I think you would have to also book a few club sites, both CC and/or C&CC, and an odd commercial site too. It would be relatively easy up the East coast part of the route but much harder over the top and down the West side.

    Unfold big paper road map on kitchen table, mark coastal CLs on it, then with felt pen join up the dots.

    It's a great idea but Scotland has a large land mass, it might look smaller on a map of the UK but touring the whole coastline is a huge undertaking! Try breaking it down to specific areas and places you'd like to visit.smile
