Truma heater blower system
Help!? How do you get the Trueman space blower to run? Everything (heater wise) on-board works just fine, but for the life of me I cannot get the blower/fan to operate. I've followed all instructions, no fuses are blown, all is clean but no fan! Any ideas people? Thanks in advance.

Don't know about your "Truman"? System but with our Aldi one you have to set the required temperature above the ambient temperature for the heating and it's pump, or fan in your case, to work.

I think we need to know what model of Truma, Tiger, and what controls you have. Older models had very different controls to newer ones.
Have you read your handbook?

+1 and/or post a photo of your control panel?

Yes. Our Truma heating system is very simple to use. In a 2001 Autosleeper MH. We need to know a bit more about outfit👍
Only thing that springs to mind with me, is all the pipe work for sending hot air to vents connected?

what do you mean everything heater wise is fine? You have heat? As said by NTH the fan switches off or slows down when the set temperature is reached. Did it work when your LV was heating up?

PCB board that sits below the fan control speed setting knob is faulty .We had the same problem where the fan was not working

Assuming your Truma unit has one, you could always try the reset button, sometimes clears obscure faults. Be careful who you get to diagnose and fix your fault, my experience is that too many generic caravan/MH dealers don’t have the skills to fix complex faults on these units.

The dealer did not have clue when our Truma blown air failed to work they did have a blind stab and fitted a new PCB but that did not work so under warranty we booked it in at Truma in Derby, The engineer plugged in his gadget similar to the one used in cars up popped up a list of faults from which he surmised it was the combustion fan we were shown to the staff canteen a couple hours later the part had been fitted and tested

Ideal. I eventually got an intermittent fault fixed, but next time I’d go straight to the Service HQ at Derby even though it’s nearly 300 miles away. Hopefully you didn’t get charged for the PCB? Replacing stuff to see what happens can get expensive!

I am puzzled when you say it works but just no fan. I imagine you don't have the CP system display as that would flag up a fault code? Some Truma heaters work on convection alone (mainly the older variety) but this is mainly stand alone heaters with no other air outlets so they won't have a fan. My Truma Combi stopped working because the fan wasn't working so couldn't distribute the heat and that was a PCB replacement. As others have said we really need to know the model you have otherwise we are all doing a bit of guesswork.

No It was all done under warranty as the heater packed up on our first trip out in it to the Broadway site which is close enough for us to pop home for an electric heater, a very wet and windy weekend so along with the heater the cap was missing from the toilet cassette and the when attempted to fit the storm guys to our brand new Kampa air awning the wrong clip had been fitted Ah the joys of owing a caravan still you get to listen lots of crap music while hanging on the phone

It will depend on what the age of your motor caravan is?
The trauma blown air on the water and heater combined unit are not that old and would show a fault code on the control panel ,if faulty and the heater would no work
Before such system the Truma heaters were mounted on normally on a panel under normally the wardrobe and the fan that fitted on the rear of the heater was quite often an extra
What year is your M/caravan?

Is it the vent function you're looking for....ensure both heat ants water are OFF, should reveal VENT in the fan options.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this discussion. there are lots of points that I will take to the old brain workshop!
To try to give an overall answer to the questions put:
The unit is a 2007 model, as to which one? your guess is as good as mine as there are no markings anywhere to indicate! I did get it working once but since then nothing. All of the piping/tubing has been refurbished and fixed to allow good air supply. If in the end the blower for the electric does not work we have gas and by jolly it gets hot! Its just the air blowing around that makes the difference to either too hot or too cold!
Once again thank you. We are out mid November so the temperature thing may work.
Happy holidays everyone
