Well lets do some maths? I've just done a quick count and not taking into account AS sites Scottish sites account for about 12% of club sites, yet you keep trying to paint the whole network just on Scottish sites. You're the one who keeps posting using only Scottish sites to substantiate your views, it is simply not the case.

And now your pushing this by arguing about the difference between many and most to rpove your point? is there a difference?

I think you need to visit more sites before making such wild assumptions Kj. I can probably say I've been to more than you. Now try and keep on topic?

You could be right with deposits,  but I think that most people will have gone by the prices on their booking and not really taken in the actual price paid?

The 32 ampere connection would work exactly the same as the present 16 ampere.  Still the same number of outlets on a bollard.  Just the cables suppling the bollards, and infrastructure upstream would need to be improved.  My caravan is now 15 years old and was supplied with a combined capacty across two breakers of 30 amperes.   Somehow, I just don't see it happening even when larger capacity is installed for all the lodges and similar that are coming.

Are prices really so bad that it's putting people off? Or are prices high?

Well I've just come back from a site that had 38 service pitches costing an extra £4.40 per night, one day they were all taken, on the other days there four or less pitches free and for 4 days only three pitches. Now on the non service pitches (of which there are 120) it ranged from half full to about two thirds full. It is one of the 'dearer' sites at about £32 per couple per night for a standard pitch  when we were there. The 'plumbing' and electrics for the SP was already there when the club took it over as there were statics on that part of the site.

So it wasn't as if those who choose service pitches had to due to no space on non SP, also they didn't have to choose SP to get a hardstanding as is often quoted for the popularity of SP as all the site is HS, so why did all these users (and there were about a third MHs and that was the same on non SP - it's not really a site that attracts them due to location) opted to pay the extra £4.40? Well one possible reason could be people like them?

So if you were looking at ways of making more money what would you do looking at this site?

It must be quite a feeling to go around knowing you, and only you, are right 100% of the time.

It's something I'll never be able to say about myself but then I'm always open to a persuasive, factual counter argument. Got rid of the blinkers decades ago, about the same time as the rose tinted 👓.

I think thats about righ about most who post on here?t ,wink problem on here is, even when those who are  questioned always seem to go in either a very defensive mode or try attacks or sidestep when correct information from reliable sources is postedcool

a shame,  but then it takes all sorts as can be noted by the "likes" to some posts mfrom somewink

I guess it wouldn’t be to create grass economy pitches😄

It certainly appears from your experience, Corners, that people are looking for more services and an easy time away to fully enjoy their leisure and that they’re willing to pay for the privilege which flies in the face of claims that people find club prices too high.

Looking at the prices for Alderstead Heath next summer as much as £6.40 a night difference between standard and economy pitches.

Add on the fact you have to apply the per person charge on top and they are still well overpriced compared to CL's.

We know loads of off grid CL's, comparable with economy pitches, some at only £5 or £6 a night.

I agree, and really what matters is what is happening on club sites rather than the relativity few who post on here?

But as often been said what is reported on here and what actually happens on club sites are two different worlds.

Which when looking seems to be very few complaining,, far more are in tune with what todays prices are and will not come down ,more the other way if the media and other sources predict.

, As OHs son says "how do you manage to do what you do on your pensions"?  surprised

Of course. You read it here.

Mine is often the voice of reason that you often choose to sidestep so I can speak with some authority and experience of your tactics.

As for 'likes', how petty to study them and what a huge lack of judgement to then admit to doing so. You need to pause and think before posting, JV.

Of course club sites cost more than a CL, I wouldn't say overpriced as you're not comparing like for like. Club sites belong to a large organisation, sites are easily ten times the size of CLs (some 20 or 30+  times), and club sites in general have more facilities on offer than CLs.

But really what is the problem? Those that want cheaper prices go to CLs those that want 'full fat' go to club sites?

Quite. It’s what happens with regard to site use that tells the story. As you allude to, only a very tiny proportion of members use this forum.
